Is Chanel nail polish worth it?

I have a £25 John Lewis voucher and was thinking of maybe splurging on some Chanel nail polish.
I love love love their colours but not sure if it’s worth paying the extra for.
I want a deep red colour, which I could probably get somewhere else cheaper.
I usually use Barry M.

I don’t think so. I now get mine from Hema (at all big railway stations and online) I use the dark red (similar to Chanel’s Rouge Noir) with the get top coat. In terms of premium brands, I’m a fan of Dior lipstick and blusher, great pigmentation and lasting, so maybe give the nail polish a whirl

It's not. But it looks lovely on dressing table /in bathroom.

Why don't you get the chanel lip crayon?

I’d get Chanel in vamp, it’s been iconic since the 1990s and it’ll feel like a really nice treat! (Realistically I don’t think you’ll find there’s a massive difference though as Barry M nail varnish is quite good)

I disagree. I only have one Chanel nail varnish, that a lovely friend bought me a few years ago. However, it’s lasted well, goes on beautifully and dries well.

It's so useless. Such a shame but really doesn't last. Nice to have though.

No it’s dreadful. Goes on streaky and chips if I so much as look at it.

I have bought millions of expensive nail varnishes in the past but always return to Barry M.

Hmmm now what to do with this voucher.

I might add it to my shopping centre voucher and buy something more expensive like a new coat or silk shirt instead.

I bought a Chanel one a few years ago and was so disappointed. Very streaky and chipped easily.

I have had loads over the years as I love their colours but they are shit for the price. Last longer on my toes though.

They've improved the formula fairly recently, it doesn't chip so much now. Still not as good as the best brands though - I like Essie and OPI.

Channel do have some fantastic colours, so it's worth it if you really want something specific, but otherwise you really are paying for the name.

I find it easy to apply & dries well but chips within seconds.

I find chanel gloupy and hard to get a smooth coat from. But maybe just me.

Essie Wicked is almost identical to Chanel Noir if that's the one you like. They're about £8 in Boots, often with a free gift offer or 3 for 2.

I love the idea of a Chanel polish but haven't heard great things about them.

I have 3 - ‘peridot’ metallic, a dark red and a dark navy. The metallic goes on fine but comes off in massive chunks of almost the whole nail. The other two go on terribly and chip terribly as well. The lovely lady on the counter in duty free told me to get the gel top coat and said it’d get me an extra week - no such luck, stil chios to the point of needing to come off within a day! Such a shame because some of the colours are great and I love the idea of being a chic Chanel nailed laydee!

Very poor coverage and chipped straight away
I prefer opi and Estée Lauder
I sometimes have gel polish if I want it to last

Nigel has it. Nothing worse than spending ages painting your nails only to have it chip almost instantly. Ok, some things are worse, but still... avoid Chanel.

Barry M far better IMO

Get gin

I prefer Models Own, you get a lot more for your money, their top coat is really good & the colour lasts.
