Eyeshadow palette

Hi all,
I want to get a decent eyeshadow palette and am looking for recommendations. I usually just buy normal high st ones like Rimmel or Superdrug, but want something with high pigment, that blends well. I am not good at make up, so would like a palette that isn't too complicated.
I tend to buy them based on colours I like, with no idea if they actually suit me and then I end up giving them to DD because I don't like how they look on me.

I am palette skinned, with freckles, brown hair and brown eyes. I think I suit silver more than gold, if that helps, although gold jewellery looks okay too. Budget is up to £60, so don't want to make an expensive mistake.
Usually, I wear brown, grey and green, but quite fancy some sparkles (if not too old. Am 45). Any help would be appreciated.

Palette skinned = pale skinned. Bloody auto correct!

Have a look at the Morphe palettes, not too expensive but the pigment of them is fab and blendable etc. If I recall correctly they're £23 for the big palettes with 35 colours.

I love my UD naked 2 palette but if I was you, I'd go to a Bobbi Brown counter and they'll help you with shades and application. There are a few palettes on sale atm on the BB counters as John Lewis and Selfridges if you're near those.

Naked has lots of different palettes. Any idea which one would suit a pale skinned brunette?

Both John Lewis & Debenhams stock Urban DecaySmile

I have dark hair and pale skin. I have the naked palette and naked2 palette. All the colours suit me! They blend beautifully and it's great fun to try so many colours!

I'm pale with blonde hair and have naked 2, smokey and ultimate basics. All shades are very wearable. Naked 3 I would avoid.

I second going to a beauty counter and asking for advise and doing some swatching.

Urban decay are good but not even remotely as good as they used to be and I personally don't think the price is justified, my naked palette sits unused for the most part. Having said that many of their palettes are currently on sale so might be worth a try.

You could also give Anastasia Beverly hills a try but you would have to buy online. The formula for most of their palettes is gorgeous. Soft glam or the sultry pallete are probably the most wearable.

Thanks everyone. Really appreciate the suggestions. Going to Cardiff tomorrow, which has a big John Lewis and a Mac, so will have a proper look.

Hope link works. Bought this one in the end - urban decay. My DD was given the peach too faced palette suggested upthread so will try that out too.
I spent the whole afternoon looking at make up, tried a few different looks and kept coming back to this one. It's very different from my usual subtle browns but I fancy a change.
Thanks once again for the help.

Brilliant OP, you'll love it! I've got an urban decay naked palette and use it all the time. Yours has a lot more colours though, enjoy!

Ah, I was about to suggest Born to Run then got to the end of the thread and you’ve bought that one anyway!

I love mine - it covers everything so goes with me when I travel - you can do basic boring everyday and then lots of options for night without carrying a load of different palettes.
