Plus size skinny jeans

Hi please can anyone recommend good high st/supermarket brand of dark indigo/black skinnies to wear for smart/casual work with smart tops and ankle boots?

They need to be stretchy so I can move easily & not too tight on leg. I'm a 20 and 5'7

Not jeggings, more jeans that can pass for work trousers if not too close.

I've worn Tu previously but would like to hear of others. Wondering about Dorothy P?

I liked M&S skinnies. They have some mystic bum lifting powers according to the blurb. No idea if it was true, but thy were comfy and skinny enough without being too tight

ABCagain · 22/12/2018 18:46

M&S Ponte slim leg.

Cherries101 · 22/12/2018 18:50

Asos if you want stretchy.

Eminybob · 22/12/2018 18:52

I’ve just bought a perfect pair from Tesco.

Processedpea · 22/12/2018 18:52

levi do plus size and they have a sale on atm

CatnissEverdene · 22/12/2018 18:53

One of the few things I still get from M & S. Their curve range is amazing, as is the standard.

MrsSchadenfreude · 22/12/2018 18:53

Next. And you will almost certainly go down a size too!

messyhousetidymind · 22/12/2018 19:02

Gosh so much choice, shame they rarely keep plus sizes in stores, might have to bite the bullet and order one from each in the new year to try on

But lots of ideas thank you! Am hoping to restock for work in the sales...

I didn't know Levi did plus size I will check that out for casual anyway.

Sticks a pair of Tesco's jeans in the trolley under the sprouts hoping DH doesn't notice

Online but Simply Be have got a good range and if you want slim leg then their Lexi jeans are very flattering.

thebigmaniswatching · 22/12/2018 20:54

I’m a 18/20 normally and get away with a 16 sometimes in next, they do a good variety and seem to keep their shape well.

Happycow · 22/12/2018 21:20

Try Next 360 also - they are very skinny - but with loads or lycra so they keep their shape and colour (even with tumble drying).

buckleten · 22/12/2018 21:24

M&S £15 jeggings are great, and I have some really nice ponte slim fit black trousersfrom there too, though they were more like £40. I have a super comfy pair of stretchy skinny jeans which camefrom the US by Bandolino, think they are available on amazon..

ScarletPower · 22/12/2018 21:26

I have been on the hunt for the perfect pair of plus size skinny jeans for ages now (size 18) and recently bought these.

They are a lovely colour, quite lightweight denim but really stretchy - I would highly recommend them.

ScarletPower · 22/12/2018 21:27

I also bought 2 x pairs of levis, one in blue and these in black

notapizzaeater · 22/12/2018 21:37

Pep and co, in Poundland do some lovely high waisted skinnies up to size 22. I was really surprised how well they wash and wear

tubspreciousthings · 22/12/2018 22:16

Another vote for Tesco - I've been really impressed

SpiritedLondon · 22/12/2018 23:54

I’m an hourglass shape and have previously found M&S jeans to gape on the waist. I have got a pair from the Curve range however and absolutely love them. They have decent stretch in them and have a high enough rise over my bum. ( generally I bemoan M&S nowadays but I do love these jeans)

user1471560044 · 23/12/2018 00:17

I find Levi 310s brilliant: they feel and look like proper denim, but have enough stretch they fit properly. I bought three pairs a year ago (in various colours) and they're all still smart enough to wear to work/out, despite heavy wear – so while they're pricier than other high street brands, they've also worn quite a lot better. I used to wear DP but was constantly replacing them.
Also – fanfare! – they are actually skinny enough at the ankle.

riotlady · 23/12/2018 00:20

I like New Look Curve, got some nice blue skinnies from there

italiancortado · 23/12/2018 00:37

Those Levi jeans look awful on the model. All bunched up Shock

chatwoo · 23/12/2018 03:44

My go to used to be New Look curve - high waisted skinny jeans with three buttons in a nice soft fabric mix. But cannot find them anymore :( Luckily I stockpiled a few pairs!

I got another style instead and they are still a good fit/look but gape so I am always hitching them up, not ideal.

I have also got a pair (on my second pair actually) of the Levi 310 'soft skinny' pairs in black. They are a bit low waisted for me, as I like to try and contain my extra bits of fat. I also don't think they 'shape' like they promise... at least that's not what it looks like when I study my backside in the mirror! Grin

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 23/12/2018 08:53

Asda wonderfit. They're stretchy and very comfy. I swear by them.

messyhousetidymind · 23/12/2018 08:57

Wow thanks all! Especially for giving specific style names etc

I'm not too keen on a high waist for day to day because if I'm leaning forward at work it digs in. Also now I'm middle aged my waist is not what it was
But for out of work I will look at those high waisters too.

Agree with previous poster about asda wonderful. They were on mumsnet swears by a while ago. They are the comfiest jeans I have ever owned.
