Is Jack Wills just for the young folk?

God I hate clothes shopping.
Teenage DD loves JW. Looking on their website, I like their "knitwear" and skirts. Would I look like a twit in a jumper with that puffin thing on?

I am ancient by MN standards.

They’ve just been bailed out with a new investor as they were struggling. According to my teen it’s no longer fashionable for them, I’m in my 40s and like their knit wear.

My Gran is 89 and she loves her jack wills jumper!! If you like it go for it, the little logos are tiny.

Oh Lindor - your gran will think I'm one of the young 'uns Xmas Grin

I like some of those "teenager shops" (JW, Superdry etc) as they seem to have a fashion for long bodies and arms which I really need. I don't like things with logos all over them, but a small one is fine. I think it's fine to just pick whatever you like, from whatever shop.

You may get eye rolls from actual teenagers who think you are trying to be down with the kids, but who cares.

I'm 47 and have a navy blue dress from JW.
It's lovely, below the knee and not fitted. No plunging neckline either.

I often have a look there, but must admit I'm now looking for clothing for my pre teen...

My teenage DD's love Jack Wills too and have recently got quite a few things in their sale. I've noticed our local JW has a mix of ages buying in there and that was true of the shop in Covent Garden when we were in there last week. The clothes are of good quality and so therefore look good on all age groups imo. Nothing worse than seeing an older person in bad quality teenage clothing lol!

welshweasel · 22/12/2018 11:32

Me and DH both have plenty of JW stuff - I’m late 30s and he’s early 50s. The whole family wear their pyjamas! It’s good quality basics that last and wash well.

MrsChollySawcutt · 22/12/2018 11:41

JW definitely out of favour with the teens around here - it was really at its peak about three years ago here.

GreatAuntPrudish · 22/12/2018 14:20

MrsCholly - my DD has got a good eye for style and what suits her (unlike me!) so she doesn't tend to follow the herd.

Oops! Forgot I'd name changed since I started thread (need a break from bloody Brexit!)

Thirtyrock39 · 22/12/2018 20:33

I bought a jack wills hoody recommended on here and it's my favourite ever hoody and I've since bought a load of t shirts in the sale that are really comfy and good quality
I avoid the stuff with the logo all across it though
