Hair Help!

I had to cancel my hair appointment yesterday as I had a sickness bug and now can't get in anywhere else. I obviously paid for my appointment and they've put me on a cancellation list but it's unlikely that they'll get a space for me.

I would like to attempt to do my own hair. Currently have balayage hair and would like to keep it like that. I've bought a blonde box hair dye and also a light brown. Does anyone know if I dye my hair brown and then add the blonde afterwards? Or if I just use the blonde the darker parts of my hair will stay darker than the rest?

I am quite clueless so probably shouldn't attempt this but also wanted to at least try and then I can always get it fixed in a couple of weeks!

Don’t do it!

AmandaBuffamonteezi · 20/12/2018 16:06

Haha @Aridane I knew someone would say that! I think I'd like to try and I can always get it fixed. My colour doesn't look great at the minute so anything new would be an improvement.

Unless it turns green or something.

No, just no.

rafffy · 20/12/2018 16:12

dont bother trying. its not worth the money you'll pay to have it fixed.

can you just do a root colour? most of the time its enough to refresh it a bit without doing the whole she-bang.

AmandaBuffamonteezi · 20/12/2018 16:17

@rafffy because the style of my hair now it's supposed to look like you have darker roots, the blonde over the rest of my hair needs redoing really. I've used box dyes loads in the last and not had a problem with them. I'm just thinking about putting the blonde all over my hair but just not sure if the darker bits will actually stay darker or if it will all just go the same blonde.

Watch tons and tons of YouTube videos on the subject. I cut my own hair and I feel I get better results because I do what I want. Also learned to bleach my hair blonde watching videos.

AmandaBuffamonteezi · 20/12/2018 17:47

I didn't even think of YouTube! Thank you! I'll get watching now Xmas Smile

Promise you’ll post before and after pics.

Rarfy · 20/12/2018 17:51

Show us a picture of your hair and a picture of thw brown dye you bought. You wont need the blonde.

NEEDSHITSTOPPERNOW · 20/12/2018 17:54

Well, you sure knew how to dance without any formal training Amanda, so maybe your hair will be fine.

I’m not feeling your abs though.

AmandaBuffamonteezi · 20/12/2018 18:43

@NEEDSHITSTOPPERNOW I'm so sorry to catch you on your moh-bile!

I'll try and post an after pic. It's too greasy to get a real idea of the colour. I'm going to just do the blonde and see what happens!

Don’t worry Amanda, I’ve got an old one of you from just after the year you were sleeping with Evil Kneeval. That can do as your before.

Still not feeling your abs though.

No!! Just no!! You will only regret it!

Rarfy · 20/12/2018 20:42

You're going the totally wrong way about it putting the blonde on. You can only really do the dark successfully at home and shouldnt need to do the blonde anyway.

AmandaBuffamonteezi · 21/12/2018 21:29

I've done it! It's not too bad actually, I just ended up using the blonde and doing the lower part of my hair with blonde and leaving the darker parts. DH is sat with DS trying to get him asleep so when he is finally done I'll post a pic!
