Are eyelash extensions meant to feel this horrible?

First time I've had them done. Cost £28 in Superdrug for ones which are meant to last a week, individually glued in ones. They feel so dry and scratchy they're annoying me. Eyelids feel icky and heavy.

Do they soften up, do I get used to them, do I go demented and rip them out? Can I do anything to make them feel better?

They look amazing but even when my eyes are closed they feel terrible. Not sure I will be able to sleep tonight.

I have had them done at a salon a couple of times. They look amazing but I can't stand the feeling - like there is a clump of mascara weighing the lash down. It gets worse after a week or so. No more for me, however good they look.

The first time I had lash extensions they felt like you described for a day or so. Then I got used to it and it was fine. Just remember not to touch them too much.

I get the Russian ones, £40 they do not feel that different to my own . Did you have a test to make sure you was not allergic to the glue.

I have had them a couple of times and always end up rubbing my eyes in the night and pulling them out by accident.

No. Mine have never felt uncomfortable, I don’t feel mine at all.

I had a patch test 24 hrs before. Maybe they're just cheap and nasty ones?

I had some done at a very reputable, expensive place and they drove me absolutely crazy. Had to get them taken off early, I couldn't bear them.

I think it's the glue on my eyelids which I don't like. Guess that would be the same from anywhere.

The first time I had them done they felt uncomfortable. However I had them done somewhere else recently and couldn’t feel them at all. So if you love the look but don’t like the feeling then might be worth trying somewhere else next time.

Should say both were semi permanent 2-4 weeks, so probably not quite the same as the ones you’ve got.

NicoAndTheNiners · 20/12/2018 20:20

I've pulled them all out now, there were scratchy clumps of glue irritating my eyelids. So yes, might try somewhere else.

I had them done at superdrug too back in May this year before my holiday.

I had individual ones like yourself & it took about 20 mins. They were really uncomfortable. I couldn't bear it so after a day or two I had to take them off, I just thought I couldn't go away with uncomfortable eyes as they were. I got them off with olive oil & cotton wool pads. They were glued to the lash line rather than actual lashes. Wouldn't have them done there again. Thankfully I managed to save my own lashes.

NicoAndTheNiners · 22/12/2018 11:10

Yes, mine were glued to the lash line.....didn't realise they weren't meant to be.
