How to do Strictly eye make-up

How does one get that fabulous heavy shimmer effect? I've got some gold eyeshadow in my MAC amber times 9 bit it's barely visible when applied.

Or more technically apply it with a damp brush. You can use mac fix plus or even just water will work. Apply over a sticky eye primer too

I'm no expert on Strictly, but do they not use glitter eyeshadows like Stila Glitter and Glow or Urban Decay Heavy Metal eyeliner all over the lid?

There are cheaper dupes as well.

You might need a heavier pigmented one. I have one from years ago from Mac which is awesome but scatters all round my eyes when applying so I do my eye make up before my foundation etc. Which in fact was a tip from the Strictly make up segment on It Take Two a few weeks back. Or, like PP, use a damp brush and a good eye shadow primer.
