What is in you bag wardrobe?

Just curious, what style bags, and what colours.

I own mostly black bags and am thinking of buying something non-black, but at a loss about the color+style.

Also those of you who carry light-coloured bags, do you find the stains and colour transfer a huge problem?

I have quite a lot of bags, all different styles, sizes and colours. My favourite style is a hobo - I have one in tan, one in black, one in khaki, one in beige a burgundy one. I have a tote in chestnut brown. A stripy leather one with chain strap, a black patent one chain strap. A cross body with webbing strap in black, a similar cross body style in tan. Two other cross bodies - tan suede, and a duck egg blue. Another tote with Harris tweed. My favourite is an Orly Keily khaki/beige leather one (looks different in different light). A few straw bags too.

If you want to venture into other colours - tan or khaki would be my recommendation. Never had any problem with colour transference.

Loads.

Every colour except black!

I love greige and putty coloured bags as they go with anything. Other than that I have a leopard print one, a black one, a tan one, a berry coloured one and a mustard small cross body bag. The greige is the one that goes with the most.

I pretty much stick to 3 shapes;

soft & slouchy, roomy tote with straps long enough to go on the shoulder - don’t actually own a blk leather one but need one, I have a mix incl Russell & Bromley, Gucci & Longchamp.

Crossbody bags incl leopard, pink black, red, blue etc from Chanel & Mulberry to APC.

Evening I like clutches ideally with an optional strap. I have blk leather, suede, patent & silk & then animal prints incl leopard & snake. Lots of these are vintage.

I wouldn’t buy suede for day to day wear and any light bags I have I wouldn’t wear with brand new indigo or black jeans.

I have 2 “posh” rucksacks but find them a little bulky & a straw beach bag.

I have far too many bags. I had a big clear-out and sold lots of the about 3 years ago but it seems numbers have crept up again.Blush. I admit to being addicted to shoes, bags, coats and jewellery.

I'm a little shocked that you only have black bags OP. Wow. Is there a reason behind this?

I have bags in every colour I can think of from black to tan to 'greige' to bright blue to gold to purple suede to turquoise stingray skin. And multicoloured ones of course. And let's not forget the beautiful wooden clutch bag made from recycled wood or the bag made from a recycled shell with beautiful dark green leather (both handmade by an amazing ex-Balmain bag designer).

I tend to favour smaller shoulder bags or tote bags (I use totes as my carry-on bag when I fly) although I do have a huge pale grey leather bag from Burberry that would easily fit a small child in. And a friend or two. Wink

I have some classic designer bags that I've had for years (mainly Prada) but in recent times I tend to buy more unique bags handmade by designer-makers (such as the aformentioned shell bag and wooden bag).

I'm a sucker for a nice bag.

I'm a bag addict! I love them. I have 3 or 4 in black, one in Oxblood, one in turquoise, coral, a dark heather shade of Harris tweed, 2 or 3 in navy blue, pink, ruby red, a white & floral one I love for summer, tartan, cream, teal...loads more that aren't springing to mind just now, too.

4 of them are Coach, which is one of my favourite brands, a Mulberry, a DKNY, Ness and a Strathberry. I love roomy totes and hobos best but also cross body and shoulder bags. I have a few smaller, evening type bags and clutches, too, including a lovely vintage Jane Shilton. Luckily, I haven't seen any colour transference anywhere but I am quite careful and I also store them in their own dustbags or cotton bags.
