I also posted this on an old thread - but this may be seen by more folk:
Hi all coconut oil fans. It is difficult to distinguish sometimes psoriasis from Seb Derm (even for Drs), especially if like me you are a picker! Being in this situation I have devised a combined system which should address both - using coconut oil and manuka honey (the 15+ Comivita which is the only UMF verified medical use that you can get retail)- it is expensive but worth it and you only use a teaspoon at a time with about 4-5 tablespoons of melted coconut oil. Let the oil cool before adding manuka - takes some mixing but if you heat the manuka it will lose its anti-bacterial effectiveness. Leave on overnight and wash out in the morning. This is improving things for me at the moment. Additionally I have been looking at the option of slathing on conditioner (I use non SLH shampoos and conditioners) - as have read that this makes it easier to removing flaking and plaques. Not sure about conditioner for seb derm if you are sure this is what you have - but I am still experimenting. If I find adding in the conditioner adds to the improvement I will let you know.
