Explain different colouring techniques to me!

Hi,

I have had foil highlights in the past and I'm currently balayaged....(rich brown through to icy blonde)

Could you explain to me any other colouring techniques?

I'm looking for an alternative as I've had the same style for the last 3 years and was foil highlighted for umpteen years before. Fancy a change!

Slices of colour or lightener

I did a purple with red slices recently. That was nice. I've seen copper with purple slices too.
