Interview outfit when it's cold

I have an interview for an officey sort of job tomorrow. I'll be going there by a combination of public transport and walking (about 15 minutes' walk from bus stop to venue, and the same on the way back).

Ideally I would wear a straight skirt, fitted jacket and a shirt. That's what I think of as conventional interview gear for this kind of job. However it's not going to be very warm on the journey and from that point of view a thicker jacket or coat would be better.

Is it normal in those circumstances to wear a coat over a jacket? Or should I just lose the jacket and wear a short fitted cardigan? I haven't worked in an office for over 20 years so maybe I'm wrong about needing to be as formal as wearing a jacket. It's not a very high-powered job.

Jacket not cardigan for interview and it’s fine to wear a coat on top to travel (ideally a smarter one but you can always take it off when you arrive). Good luck!

Thanks! I've got a smart/classic coat that should fit the bill. Smile
