Knomo laptop bag... What do you think?

Hiya,

So I am in one of my semi regular obsessions with a bag I want to purchase, and full of the dreams of how it will change my life and stuff.

I currently use a Cambridge satchel as my handbag, and on work days I usually carry either a tote or a backpack to fit in my lunch and my laptop and a magazine.

I never feel very smooth and stylish, though my look is not very groomed anyway. More…quirky (though I hate myself for writing that!). I like 60s inspired dresses and skirts, brogues, the aforementioned satchel. I have a bob haircut and don’t really wear makeup, just mascara. I’m 34. I work in a professional office but it can be casual as we like. Plenty of people bring backpacks, Kankens etc or sweaty betty totes for their extra stuff.

But I suddenly find myself dreaming of the Knomo Audley bag. It’s a leather laptop bag, room for the computer and also apparently shoes and a drink.

Does anyone have one? What’s the verdict? I’d like to look like a together grownup, less two-bags McGee, but I also want to keep looking like me and not that I’m trying to play dressups as some sort of “business woman”.

I would wait for the January sales or longer, maybe look in Duty Free… but is it a wise thing to get? It’s expensive. I’ve never spent that much on a bag.

Can't get the link to go clicky...

I got one for Christmas last year. I haven't used it in w few months - it started looking quite "worn" a lot earlier than I thought it would, and I work from home a few days a week so it's not used every day or taken on public transport etc. I know a few others with the same problem.

It holds my laptop well. I don't carry shoes in it; it can fit them but it makes the bag huge and bulky; and loses the style.

I don't know if that helps at all!

I dont gave that particukar bag, but i do have a knomo backpack that i love!
They all seem to be sleek on the outside and roomy inside, with properly thought through pockets etc. I waited for a sale - but i wasnt hung up on a particular bag! I see lots of knomos around so they must be good.

Enjoy your new purchase!!

Thanks guys.

I'd been eyeing up the backpacks as well but felt like I could justify that even less as I have several backpacks ( though they're not stylish).

Not great to hear it got worn so quickly though, anchor. I think at that price is want something that was really going to last.

Samsonite have a lovely leather backpack that is better value (Knomo falls apart as quality of design tends to be poor), has comfy straps, and far better thought out design.

I’ve had the Harewood for over a year and I love it. uk.knomo.com/collections/backpack-women/products/harewood-15-inch-laptop-tote-backpack-119-413-pin

Can't vouch for the quality of the Knomo but can for the Elvis and Kresse tote or Fossil bag I use to cart my laptop round

Really like the Harewood linked above for being more 'quirky' than your original link

...or this Kipling linked on another thread

None of them look big enough to me.

I carry my 15" laptop, in a sleeve so it doesn't get scratched, power cable, A4 pad and pen, umbrella, hat, water bottle, tea cup, lunch pack, tub of tea bags, and I have only just got a bag big enough. I'd love to be able to carry shoes (I don't have a fixed desk nor locker so have to bring everything every day).

I also carry my handbag with kindle, two phones, battery pack, purse, tissues, train tickets/oyster/photocard, reusable folded bag and building pass.

If I need to take anything else in (three parcels today for posting), buy anything at lunchtime or bring anything else home (new boxed phone for new employee starting Jan) then I need a third bag.

It's doing my head in!

@VanGoghsDog I actually laughed out loud at your post because I think you're me!

OP I would get a Herschel rucksack. Mine is black and I dress pretty smart to work (dresses and tights with smart black trainers), and think I look pretty pulled together even with the rucksack. Think of your back and shoulders!

I have one. I like it but the dividers are too floppy and get shoved down within the bag.
