Good quality clothes/shoes?

I'm planning a wardrobe overhaul in the New Year!

I have very few work clothes (dress smartly) and even fewer day-to-day clothes that I actually like and go together. Had a date night with DH last week and got myself worked up trying to find someone to actually wear that I felt comfortable in and didn't look scruffy. I'd like to look more polished overall.

I'm 29 with 2 young children (so need to wear fairly practical things) and work full time - don't have loads of spare cash but would like to buy fewer items that are better quality.

Where shall I look?

Uniqlo.
Their extra fine merino wears well and is good value.

Following. Although most clothes are christmasy party clothes right now. Or polyester that needs to be dry-cleaned.

I do most of my clothes/accessory shopping online. A lot of the higher end stores have sales at the moment so there are some good quality / well designed things available for better prices than usual. You're a few days late for the best of the sales but have a look at websites like Coggles, MyTheresa, Net-a-Porter, The Outnet and Wolf & Badger. If nothing else, it may help you find designers whose style you like and/or give you some ideas of looks you can put together.
