Nail polish - reasonable brand

Very dull post but just wondering what is a reasonably priced brand? They use Essie and Opi in my local nail bar but I wanted to try and do it myself. Are Essie and Opi the best on the market or are there any other cheaper decent brands which come recommended

I really rate Essie, but also find Rimmell brilliant and only a couple of quid, so a complete bargain. I use Seche Vite top coat which makes them lovely and shiny and hardwearing.

I'm another Essie fan and I'm a recent convert to Seche Vite top coat after seeing it recommended on here.

I like Mavala. Smaller bottles but cheap - and it's pretty rare for me to use up a whole bottle anyway.
Make sure to use a decent top coat and Bob's your uncle....long lasting loveliness ! I'm using a Leighton Denny one at the moment

Omg I'm not the only person to dislike OPI? I thought I was doing something wrong. Essie for me and another vote for sh top coats

kiko

Smith and Cult or Maggie Anne

Essie is meh & it really varies from colour to colour how well it applies & stays. I don't get the love for it at all.

Rimmel deep reds or Barry M Metallics are good.

Thanks peeps, I bought the Essie and Sally Hansen as a treat so should last a bit!

Im suprised at all the Nails Inc love on here. I have always found them to chip immediately and to go on a bit wishy washy! Am I doing something wrong?
I really like Essie (although not a fan of the actual brush). I love the colour pay off with Opi, the colour of the bottle is always the colour you get with them. I also really like Ciate. They do a lot of glitters that I only ever pull out at this time of year. Currently wearing a Butter London polish. Not a fan. It took 3 coats to become anything nearing opaque.

NotAColdWomanHenry · 17/12/2018 16:25

I have swooned over and bought Butter London a few times because I love the colours, but the formula is terrible! Not only does it take multiple coats, it also dries up and goes gloopy in the bottle almost immediately.

Disco biscuit and Fairy cake are gorgeous - but £10 for a frustrating experience.

I find Essie the best.

Mokepon · 17/12/2018 16:43

Rimmel
Maybelline
Models Inc.
All lasted well, cheap as chips(without chips Wink)

Orly bonder base coat. Essie polish. Seche Vite topcoat. Different things work for different people but as someone with over 300 nail polishes this is by far the best combo for me.
