Best lip balm for my poor lips!

My lips are dry all the time, I apply lip balm a lot and it makes little difference.

I've tried the following:

EOS
Burts Bees
Nivea
Vaseline
Nivea Intensive
Carmex

They're not sore, just dry and tight. I'm wondering if it's something else than just chapped though as I'm on HRT and this happened once before when I had low estrogen but I've been on same dose for 3 years now.

Any ideas?

Have you tried drinking more water?

I get tight lips when I'be not drunk enough and need to have 3+ litres a day for nice soft lips

Other people have already recommended them but I second Lanolips and Elizabeth Arden 8 hour lip balm.

As others have said, definitely Blister Relief Cream - v small metal tube with red lid. Great for the summer when the sun dries your lips, the winter when the cold dries your lips, and for all times in between too!

I use Lansinoh nipple cream.

Make sure your chosen lip balm doesn’t contain fragrance or menthol (sadly a few popular lip balms which have already been mentioned do contain it)

I recommend the petroleum based ointments- Aquaphor or Cerave healing balm (Cerave has added bonus of ceramides)

Best to apply lip balm immediately after washing your face/showering to seal in the moisture and prevent further tewl

Also, my skin gets very dry due to central heating at this time of the year. Low humidity causes dry skin

Good old Nivea in the blue pot not their lip stuff, just regular Nivea.
Lather it on before bed and let it work overnight.
Super cheap too.

It's the only thing that sorts out my lips when they're dry and chapped.
I then use Body Shop hemp chapstick during the day and out in cold weather.

I do sometimes use a bit of Lansinoh left over from BFing years ago. Also v good.

Plenty of water and nuxe have a fantastic lip balm. Its perfect for the cold weather but its a great all rounder

MeetOnTheSIedge · 16/12/2018 07:31

Blistex in the metal tube for me too.

BuffyFan · 16/12/2018 07:44

Second (or third) Blistex - the metal tube for when it's really bad and the intensive one the rest of the time. The metal tube one is often sold next to cold sore creams rather than lip balms.

Body shop hemp one is the best one I’ve ever used and I suffer from dry lips too
