Do you think people with blue eyes look better when they go grey ?

As the grey kinda. Goes with the blue nicely

Hmm, interesting question. I think it might depend what colour their hair was originally. I have bluey-grey eyes and ginger hair - you could say there's a bit of a mismatch of warm and cold there. I probably won't actually go grey as my mum's hair never really did - it faded a lot but was still a warmish colour. Maybe it would look good if I did. But for people with blue or grey eyes and cooler colouring - say white-blonde or nearly black hair - it might not make so much of a difference. I do know a woman with very blue eyes and short, thick, pure white hair (she's not that old, nearly 60 I think) and I always think she looks fabulous.

Depends I think. Like everything in life.

I'm fair, blue eyes, a bit sallow, have a little grey but not much. In theory I think I should look good if I went grey. In reality I think it would make me completely colourless and tired looking.

But I have see women who were originally dark hair blue eyes look absolutely incredible with grey hair.

My mum has brown eyes and yellowy warm skin and her hair is a lovely pure white which I love white hair
But it doesn’t suit her

Why not write that in your mum’s Xmas card. Sure she’d be chuffed to bits.

LardLizard · 13/12/2018 13:42

Oh I’d never ever say that to her or anyone in rl

I'd like to think so as I'm going grey but my once blue eyes are now green.

WereYouHareWhenIWasFox · 13/12/2018 17:56

Both my parents had blue eyes, my dad had dark hair and brown skin so when he went white, the contrast with his brown skin looked really nice. My mum has pale skin so now she is white haired she just looks colourless all over.

OldJoseph · 13/12/2018 17:59

Yes, it's lovely, it's not going to be me unfortunately.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 13/12/2018 17:59

In our family, people's bright blue eyes tend to fade a bit as they get older.

Hmm, my Grandma always looked good; she had very white hair as does my mum.

I'm a natural red head, and used to have it coloured red as I got older. Now I've stopped dyeing my hair, people who didn't know me when I was a kid, ask if I'm reverting to my natural blonde. I'm kind of dark blonde and my grey looks like highlights.

LardLizard · 13/12/2018 18:16

Red heads are so lucky

I was really puzzled about this.

Thought you meant when their eyes went grey Confused

foxtiger · 14/12/2018 20:01

My mum has pale skin so now she is white haired she just looks colourless all over.

She sounds a bit like the Queen, who I always think looks much, much better in strong, warm colours than in light colours, especially if they're on the cool side. Buy her a deep pink jumper!

WereYouHareWhenIWasFox · 15/12/2018 05:11

She looks ok in make up, when there is some definition, but her whole head just has no colour at all.

Birdie6 · 15/12/2018 05:40

Yes. DH had blonde hair and startling blue eyes when I first met him, really beautiful ....now he has grey hair and those same blue eyes and he looks gorgeous .

Zoflorabore · 15/12/2018 05:45

I bloody hope so! I have very blue eyes and very dark almost black hair ( I'm 40 ) and it's been going grey since I was about 18!
I've tried going lighter over the years but the upkeep was ridiculous, my hair seems to grow daily.

My dad thinks my hair is too dark and if someone is describing me it's usually "the one with the black hair" but when I do buy hair dye it's never ever black. I am quite pale so know the difference as have been black just once and it was really severe.

What I will say is that when I've been lighter on the odd occasions over the years I felt a bit washed out looking and feel I look better with darker hair which doesn't really make sense Grin

Silkie2 · 15/12/2018 06:11

I think tanned people eg Italians look good grey if they go that steely grey colour like George Clooney. My DSIL is white Haired now and she was a light brown colour previously and suits the white.
Does DM suit blue because she could do a blue or silvery rinse.

Sarcelle · 15/12/2018 07:20

Martin Kemp is one of those blue eyed people who suit grey hair.

Bluesheep8 · 15/12/2018 09:10

My blue eyes have turned greeny grey. My hair is so dark it's almost black. I actually wish it would go grey. But I'm 45 and not a sign of any grey. Must be because I'm half Irish, as none of my cousins are grey either, all jet black.
