Flakey nose! Please help

I seem to have flaky skin on the side of my nose and it looks awful under foundation. Is this dry skin and if so what moisturiser should I use on my almost 40 yr old face?

Thank you 😊

Olay Regenerist creams and serums are great and full of good ingredients.

Have you had your skin checked by your GP or Nurse. I suffered from a tiny patch of skin on one side of my nose that I could flake off, only for it to constantly return. During a visit to my local surgery the nurse said that the dry patch on my nose could be Basel cells. I was given a cream to use for 4-6 weeks and it literally burns the cells away, alternatively you can pay privately to have them burned off. Either way it’s not pleasant as you have a red sore for weeks but mine has healed over and is beginning to look better. Obviously yours could simply be dry skin but is worth a mention at your next visit, better to be safe than sorry.

Hi, I’m 44 and I used to have this problem too, but I don’t anymore.

I use Liz Earle cleanser with a muslin cloth morning and night, particularly paying attention to the skin around my nose. The cloth gently exfoliates the area. I then use moisturiser before applying my make-up and flaky skin is a thing of the past for me! I hope this will work for you too.

I had dermaplaning done on mine and it’s gone.

Gentle exfoliation and try a small amount of vaseline rubbed in over night to really soften that area up.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions! wife I don’t think it’s that kind of thing but I have a go appointment next week so will ask if it may be.

I’ll try the cleanser and Muslim option and get some play cream to use too.

Thank you for sharing your wisdom x

LRP Cicaplast B5 Baume is great for anything like that. I use it on my nose when I have a cold.

Following...my face goes like a flapjack in winter, but have spots so worry about using greasy moisturiser

RD15 · 12/12/2018 17:58

Definitely agree with the LRP cicaplast balm- it’s miracle stuff! Xx

I use a silicone exfoliating pad with a wash off cleansing cream or just almond or olive oil, then moisturise with eucerin 5% urea cream.

I forgot the link

You need salicylic acid and glycolic followed by a urea cream
They are all keratinolytic so will exfoliate the skin off leaving it smooth as a baby

Just wanted to update my fellow nose flapjacks...used the Eucerin urea night cream last night and the flapjack has gone Grin as an added bonus my frown lines look massively better too. Thank you!
