Handbag for a laptop?

AlaskanSnow · 10/12/2018 20:33

I've started a new job. I need to take a laptop out to see clients so I'm looking for a nice bag.

I'll only be carrying it from the car into the appointment so I don't need a security backpack style.

I was hoping for something stylish, maybe a tote or satchel?
I'm struggling to find one though, any ideas what brands to look at?

Steven Harkin has literally (just today!) started doing a gorgeous laptop bag in a shoulder/cross-body style. I WANT one SO badly! This style is so new that it isn't even on his website, just his Instagram.

Hope this link works (if not, search for stevenharkinbags on Instagram and it's his latest post).

I have just bought a cheap one from eBay that is surprisingly nice. I wanted different compartments , it has three , one for my microsoft surface (bags of room) , one for paperwork ..fits A4 perfectly and a centre one for my personal stuff.
I got it in black Cheap enough , but looks great..not sure how long it will last but I'm happy so far.

this is the other one that I was looking at

I have a Kipling www.kipling.com/uk-en/sale-c10499/kaitlyn-78bb43-k1649459g00-999.html and they’re on sale at the mo Grin

Sunflower40 · 10/12/2018 20:58

I have a Knomo one - got it on sale & it's lasted well. Lots of pockets, but looks like a nice bag at same time.

ChishandFips33 · 10/12/2018 22:35

I have a Fossil (think the Emma would fit a laptop) and an Elvis and Kresse tote

Make sure what you choose is roomy if you're wanting to carry charger purse etc

ChishandFips33 · 10/12/2018 22:37

That's gorgeous Lucking
What size laptop do you use?

Luckingfovely · 10/12/2018 22:46

Chish I use quite a small one at the moment but it could definitely fit something bigger. It fits an A4 pad comfortably. Dimensions will be on the link to check I expect.

AlaskanSnow · 11/12/2018 06:00

Thanks for the links.

I should have specified budget - up to £75, so although many of these are lovely, they are out of reach.

My laptop is 15.3 so also limits as many of the ones I liked were only suitable for 13 or 15 Hmm
I'm hopeful the right bag is out there!

Love the work bags here.

namastayinbed · 11/12/2018 07:06

I use a le pliage - I had a similar budget and have a similarly massive laptop!

Luckingfovely · 11/12/2018 09:18

If you can, have a look in TK Maxx - they have a massive range of bags and I've seen good laptop bags in there before.

I have this and it's pretty good for a laptop and few other documents. I must admit I have switched to a backpack due to issues with my back as I travel in tube a lot. But if I was just driving to work I would go back to it.

AlaskanSnow · 11/12/2018 12:57

OOH - love that Wenger one!

My TK Maxx is rubbish sadly, I see it mentioned a lot but can never find much

namastayinbed which do you have? I had a look and they all seem far out of budget!

Hobbs soho tote - navy burgundy or metallic
On sale £119

namastayinbed · 11/12/2018 20:51

A large shopper (£80)

stayfit · 11/12/2018 21:02

Don't you need a laptop case or something if you use la pliage for cushioning? I used to use one for cabin baggage and find it holds a lot without weighing a ton.

namastayinbed · 11/12/2018 21:21

Yes, I have it in a padded case.
