Ankle boots rather than knee highs

Ladybirdbookworm · 09/12/2018 21:10

Absolutely ....boots are all I really wear .
Some sock ankle boots would look lovely

sirmione16 · 10/12/2018 13:49

Ankle boots only 100% if you don't want to wear shoes

IAmNotLikeThat · 11/12/2018 17:51

I don't know because I cannot see your ankles. Your knees look pretty big, so won't ankle boots make them look like elephant's knees?

PouchofDouglas · 11/12/2018 17:52

That’s not her you idiot

I'd wear shoe boots or ankle boots but I'm told knee boots are more this year

If you're wearing black opaque tights then black shoes (maybe black pointed courts) would look most flattering to the legs if your ankles are good, as they elongate the leg and also black pointed courts are daintier looking.

If you're doing ankle boots then they would need to be kitten or stiletto heel or shoe boots (ie something a bit dressier) but NOT chunky or block heeled ankle boots (ie something you could walk the dog in through a field) or it will look too heavy with the chiffon of the dress and also it causes the calf to look chunkier due to the line across the ankle. (I know that's a model in the pic but we most all probably want to make our legs appear longer slimmer looking, lol!) I also get ankle muffin top (IYKNIM!) in quite a lot of ankle boots so look for ones that don't cut into your ankle causing a bulge over the top. Lower cut ankle boots ie shoe boot types are the most flattering and they are dressy for parties.

Another option is over the knee boots. They are very trendy - much more trendy than knee boots, which are really Noughties (not in a good way) but you need to get ones which are slim fitting and don't fall down. Also a thin and/or kitten heel is most flattering. But the look has to be balanced as your arms and cleavage are highlighted ie bare, and too much coverage in the form of boots and tights on the lower half can look odd. The same goes for ankle boots which are too clunky or better suited to jeans.

Hope this helps!
