Natural fibres and party clothes

They don't really go together do they?

If you prefer natural fibres what do you wear for parties, does it have to be £££ or have you found a workaround?

Could try wearing a silk slip underneath?

Silk shirt, jeans, leather jacket.

For dresses I've had some luck in the past on ebay. I can't bring myself to spend a massive amount on party gear as it tends to get worn so few times.

No I don't want to spend much for the same reason, and my go to shop Uniqlo doesn't seem to do party clothes.
Not had much joy with eba y recently because descriptions are so poor. Even contacting the seller brings little joy....I need more than ' nice dress, lovely fabri c'. I've tried the local charity shops, no joy there either.

Silk dress and cashmere cardigan is my go to just now. Whistles do quite a few silk dresses with high elastane content.

Sometimes get cotton velvet things.

I had a phase of leather skirt and cashmere jumper for a bit, but I’m tired of it now as it was so easy I did it a bit too often.

Also, I’ll make an exception for something made of viscose if it’s a good style, or say a silk viscose mix velvet.

Silk, Cos and Jigsaw have a reasonable choice. Boden do some party dresses in a cotton with a nice sheen but it's harder at this time of year.

OldJoseph · 09/12/2018 08:07

I'll probably wear my cotton velvet dress, it was a lucky Boden ebay purchase from a few years ago.

There's certainly a big choice out there from cheap to expensive but the fabric is mostly the same so I can't really see what the extra money is for.
