I'm looking for a non ugly but practical travel bag. Flying long haul with toddlers so need something robust and spacious for the flight. I don't want a backpack but open to suggestions.
I've looked at the longchamp tote which has been mentioned lots and I do like it, but the lack of compartments worries me.

This may depend on how many babies you have to hold but I've found travelling with a wheeled cabin sized bag is way easier than a bag you have to support on your arm

I will also have a wheelie suitcase but need something as a handbag too. That I can also use on outings on the trip.

IMO (and I spend a horrific amount of my life on planes) you are better having one big open bag that you then put other bags into - ideally the cheap coloured drawstring bags so you can grab the orange one with the wipes and clean clothes in, or the blue one with toys in (for eg) rather than having to haul one big bag from under the seat or the overhead each time.

You could use a Longchamp bag and have pouches inside separating different things...baby stuff, your personal stuff, documents etc. You can also buy organisers that are made to fit Longchamp bags. You can get them from eBay or amazon. Generally the best ones are made from stiffish felt.

I'm always going on about the mia tui Jennie bag - huge, lots of pockets etc. I use mine on flights every time
