Link to previous thread.

And once again, let's keep this good-spirited. Spiteful comments are about as welcome as Fergie at Prince Philip's birthday party!

If the QM had a caesarian with the Queen, she would have had one with Margaret, due to the danger of the uterus rupturing, wouldn't she? Ditto the Queen, but the article seems to suggest she had three normal births after Charles.
How does anyone know that Kate needed no pain relief? Sounds like speculation.

queenofarles · 06/12/2018 20:57

Grin at that boy! Wish I could do it sometimes!

Was princess Margaret Delivered via C section too?? She was born in Glamis how did they set an Operating theatre ?

Clionba · 06/12/2018 20:58

Well I read about Kate, seemed to be a lot of detail, labour duration etc. It could be untrue, but it sounded plausible. Supposition, but it kind of made me think, yeah, she'd do it with yoga and breathing!

WindyWednesday · 06/12/2018 21:00

No details on Louis birth. She looked in pain on those steps afterwardsds. She’s amazing, I’d want to shuffle out of the back door in my pjs.

Queen. - it was a snide comment about Meghan.

Spudlet · 06/12/2018 21:14

So I fell down a bit of a rabbit hole and found myself looking at this:

www.nowtolove.com.au/royals/british-royal-family/royal-curtsies-50702

The curtsy isn't really a gesture that works without a big skirt, is it?

Clionba · 06/12/2018 21:15

Doing a curtsey probably needs a crinoline!

Spudlet · 06/12/2018 21:18

Definitely, to hide the 'I really really need a wee' configuration of the legs Grin

The BBC have announced plans for a radio musical comedy based on the life of the Duchess of Sussex to air on New Years Day on Radio 4.

Confused wtaf ? Surely a joke

Minimammoth · 06/12/2018 21:26

Adjusts tiara and drops a curtsy.
Someone help me up please.
Blatant place marking

itswinetime · 06/12/2018 21:28

A radio musical comedy! Is the bbc on glue??

queenofarles · 06/12/2018 21:28

Why? Confused ,

QueenOfTheAndals · 06/12/2018 21:28

Honestly curtsies seem just so ridiculous in this day and age. Look at Theresa May curtsying to Prince William!

Spudlet · 06/12/2018 21:32

That's not so much a curtsy as a lunge. Impressed her knees hold up to it! I'd need to be levered back upright Grin

Honestly, deep curtsies in modern clothes look so silly, like the performer is about to fall over. Surely a bow, or at most a quick knee bob, would suffice? Most of those pictures look ridiculous, so undignified.

Minimammoth · 06/12/2018 21:32

It just doesn’t work when legs are on view, most inelegant.

Clionba · 06/12/2018 21:32

Poor Theresa. I always think if I ever met a royal* I'd just give a respectful head nod.
*very unlikely

QueenOfTheAndals · 06/12/2018 21:35

Diana curtsying to King JC, the old letchConfused

Spudlet · 06/12/2018 21:36

I always twice, to be fair, it wasn't exactly a weekly event went for a quick bob, which seemed to suffice. The last time I was eight months pregnant so it was the least extravagent bob ever to be bobbed, lest we should need heavy lifting equipment to get me up again Grin

It's just so ott compared to the men, who get to go for a little bow!

itswinetime · 06/12/2018 21:38

A selection of royal curtsys the your ladies definitely go for full commitment.

Best curtsys

it's from somewhere called nowtolove.com for those who don't like clicking blind Smile

SenecaFalls · 06/12/2018 21:53

It really is sexist that women are expected to lower their bodies and men only bob their heads down a bit.

One thing that the Crown got wrong: the MIGs sniveling because the Kennedys didn't bow and curtsey to the Queen. Per protocol, the heads of state and their spouses don't have to bow to other heads of state, then and now. Surely the MIGs would know that since they are the protocol experts.

Cornwall73 · 06/12/2018 21:59

Lovely new thread, thank you.
Very late to the party but I really like what Kate has been wearing today other than the ball gown (too pale).

I live Camilla’s outfit at the party though. That skirt is something I would have worn in my ore pregnancy years!

AhoyDelBoy · 06/12/2018 22:22

I love me a curtsy but this has to be the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen. I suppose it doesn’t photograph well. I had posted a great video a few threads ago I should try and find.

Royal style & gossip: more gowns, less frowns
AhoyDelBoy · 06/12/2018 22:30

Looking at that link it seems Fergie never quite mastered the art of a graceful and elegant curtsy. Kate must have practiced a lot before she was married because she’s mastered it.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 06/12/2018 22:34

This picture is equally ludicrous.
