Has anyone seen anything similar, ideally not in black (everything I own is black!) and ideally a bit (... or er, a lot!) less expensive..?

Just something in a nice wool cashmere blend.

I got this Other Stories coat which has a cocoon shape and comes in different colours. Some other coats on their website have a more similar collar to the Jaeger one too. 10% off for signing up to their emails which slightly helps with the spendiness

Search for 'maroon coat' in zara. They have something a similar shape.

Wait until the sale starts, almost all brands have huge reductions on coats.

I have a nearly identical one from Zara (got it last week). I have that Jaeger one in Grey from a couple of seasons ago and there isn’t much difference except the Zara one isn’t as heavy. Zara one was £90 I think.

Is it me, or do the sleeves look ridiculously short on tha Jaeger coat?

It's a re release of a coat they made in the 60s. The fashion was to wear it with long gloves. I think it's lovely but admittedly not very practical. They have long leather gloves on the website to wear with it.

I tried on the Jaegar one and would have bought it, except...

...the sleeves look bloody ridiculous. Who wants a coat with short sleeves? And I mean really short. I’m 5’5 so not tall and don’t have long limbs.
