Nice underwear - specifically, a corset?

Does anyone have any ideas?

I’m looking for a short-ish, cute corset for the bedroom. Nothing costume-y or goth-y; just something that gives uplift and comes down to the waist.

Ideally one with boning to the top rather than cups, for some reason the cups never fit me properly. Matching knickers a bonus!

Thank you!

I normally get them from figleaves

VioletWillow · 04/12/2018 08:50

Do you want a proper (as in steel boned) corset? I like Vollers for corsets but FairyGothmother have (certainly had) lovely ones, but they were always outerwear for me so I don't know if they had matching underwear. Maybe they did.
Figleaves as mentioned is a very good option for a corset that is more an undergarment type I would imagine.

Corsets Uk do them.
Good price if offers on.

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 04/12/2018 09:02

Vollers are amazing but expensive and not very comfortable.

LemonLimerance · 04/12/2018 19:12

GreenandBlueButterfly so simple yet perfect, I didn’t even think to look there! Thanks!

violet I think I want more of a soft-boned one for now. I looked at Vollers and, while lovely, are a little too hardcore for my current needs. Great to see a traditional maker still in business though!

Lemon I totally hear you. They are gorgeous but are fairly bulletproof like in their construction! I hope you find what you're looking for 😊

LemonLimerance · 04/12/2018 19:18

Sorry for disappearing by the way. Day got busy!

DonDrapersOldFashioned yes they are proper corsets aren’t they?

mummy having a look at corsets UK now. Figleaves was no help :( everything too strappy/porny or didn’t have enough support.

They had a black zip up with cherries a while ago very pretty when it arrived.

GreenandBlueButterfly · 05/12/2018 06:42

I know you didn't like the ones in figleaves, but just wanted to say I find this brand quite supportive. I'm a 32F and it holds well

LemonLimerance · 05/12/2018 07:32

GreenandBlueButterfly that’s so pretty!

The thing is, I specifically want a strapless ‘thing’ (last night I came to the conclusion that I’m probably looking for a basque, not a corset? What exactly is the difference?). Ideally not with cups but with boning. Seems impossible to find Sad

Look for a high waist one...

GreenandBlueButterfly · 05/12/2018 16:15

I have one like the one you are describing. I got it from Debenhams in Oxford Street in London. Worth checking if you are nearby

LemonLimerance · 05/12/2018 19:19

GreenandBlueButterfly good idea. With the benefit of being able to try things on too which is always safest with boob-related things! When did you get yours if you don't mind me asking?

Casmama · 05/12/2018 20:33

What about this? Plenty of others if you don't like that one.

EsmesRedPetticoat · 05/12/2018 20:37

You need one of these with you normal bra. The suspended straps come off if you don’t want them. I have one for under my wedding dress and it is brilliant!

EsmesRedPetticoat · 05/12/2018 20:37

Yeah the link helps!

LemonLimerance · 05/12/2018 22:46

Casmama getting really close there. Going to look on that site closely tomorrow! Thank you!

Esme Thanks for the link. I agree it’s lovely and classic. However it’s really the boob uplift that I’m looking for, so wearing a waist cincher with my normal bra would defeat the object. I also would quite like the corset to only come to my waist ideally (though this seems a tall order). I like my hips and also the manoeuvrability of being able to bend at the waist!

lemon, I got the Debenhams one in March this year.
