I am about to hit 50, and am 4 years post-menopause. In that time I have put on around 10kg, and it is MUCH harder than before menopause to lose the extra weight. (I do try diet and exercise, but it is sporadic, and I have to face it that my lifestyle and general laziness means that the extra weight probably isn't going anywhere soon).
As a result, I have gone from a 10/12 to a 12/14. I have always carried weight on my bum and thighs, but had a small waist and chest. I now have a huge bum and thighs, but also I have thickened around my middle too. Lovely!
My existing jeans are at the point of being very very uncomfortable. They tend to be skinny or straight leg styles from Hobbs, Jigsaw, Next or Boden.
What styles of jeans would be comfier and more flattering to me at my current size?
I have always found jean shopping very depressing even at my old size, so I am not looking forward at all to the trawl around shops looking for bigger sizes (seeing your wobbly thighs in a changing room mirror is never a pleasant sight!!).
Thanks for your help!
