How to 80sify my outfit?

I’m going to an 80s themed Christmas party night and already have this dress. How can I make it look like I’ve made an effort to get into the 80s vibe?

Shoulder pads, lacy tights, lacy fingerless gloves and bangles. Hooped earrings. Crimped hair blue eyeliner, neon lipstick

Look at some 80s makeup tutorials on youtube. Pointy stilettos, loads of jewellery, fishnets. You will look fab!

Thanks ladies, hadn’t thought of lacy tights and fingerless gloves, got my blue eyeliner

Leg warmers.
Bangles.
Big hair.

The shoulder pads are really cheap (couple of quid) and they will immediately 80s up that dress (which isn't at all 80s!).

AllPizzasGreatAndSmall · 02/12/2018 23:32

Not leg warmers, nobody would have worn legwarmers with a smart dress like that in the 80s.
The dress isn't really 80s style, but shoulder pads might make it look more suitable and agree with lacy tights and stilettos.

Lovely dress but not at all 80’s! I would rethink Smile

A wide (about 3 inches) black leather belt. A matching clutch bag and stilleto heels. Think Joan Collins in Dynasty. Backcombed hair too.

i lived through the 80s

Black leather jacket, huge cross necklace and lots of bead knecklaces and bracelets, bangles, Studded boots/belt/cuffs. Lots of back combed hair.

My 80’s was a bit punk/rocker billy.

I think the dress you have is possibly more Essex girl - White stilettos, neon large jewellery, white jacket.
