Coats for big upper half

I’m having so much trouble finding a coat this year. I already have a big bust, but it seems like I’ve put on extra weight around my shoulders and back this last year. I used to fit into size 12-14 or L, but I’m definitely size 16 now. I tried on so many coats yesterday and I either looked like I was drowning in coats or bursting out. I have thin arms and stick thin legs (I’m size 10-12 trousers). I’m 5ft4.

Problem is I can’t find a coat that suits me.
What are you people with big busts wearing?!

I am big busted too, and the best advice I was given re coats, was to avoid double- breasted ones as the make you look even chestier. So look for single-breasted ones as the starting point.

Yes I’ve read about single breasted coats with as less detail as possible around the chest area to draw attention away. Also no belts and the oversized style is a big no-no. But trying to find a single breasted coat that doesn’t make me look like Trigger isn’t easy!

Yes that coat is nice, I just wonder if the zip up front when closed would give a big shelf, mono bosom effect?

I like that one Cowes but its way too smart for me.

The one I tried on actually slimmed me quite a lot. It smoothed over the cleavage too. Interestingly, size 14 fit me perfectly and size 16 left me drowning in it. Not sure what the deal is with my body or clothes sizing

I’ve looked in bravissimo but unfortunately the coats aren’t to my liking.
