Underwear for tween girls

Hey there,

Okay I'll start with stating I'm not the underwear troll. This is a genuine question, one I never thought I'd ask, but genuine nonetheless.

Every Christmas, we give our kids new boxers/pants and socks under the tree / in their stockings. This year I'm finding it really hard for DD. She's nearly 11. She really likes comfy underwear (full knickers/shorts), but she is adamant she doesn't want to wear 'little kid' undies - no baby pink, unicorns, princess things. She's quite tall for her age, but still has a 'little'girl' build, so isn't big enough for women's clothes, though I think if I found a size 2XS somewhere that would work. In kid sizes, she'd wear age 12-13 usually.

At this point, all I'm seeing is plain black and white undies, which aren't in anyway 'special' for a present, or adult underwear that is far too grown up for her.

So my question is, does anyone know where I could get nice undies for an 11 year old who doesn't want to be too little kiddish. Thank you!

Marks and spencer have got loads

APositiveMind · 01/12/2018 09:04

Have you tried Primark? They're only cheap but if you avoid the barely there lady things in the pile mounds they do normal hipsters and shorts. Or they do multi-packs.
Size wise I'm sure Primark have now started doing a size 4-6 aswell as a 6-8?
My younger sister was 11 when she started raiding my wardrobe that's when we started buying her adult clothing.
Good luck!

Lady things was meant to be lacy thongs!

My 11 year old DD has a few cropped top and pants sets from M and S (Autograph). Not unicorn-y and she loves them. They are fairly pricey though.

My DD likes comfort too.

M&S do shorts that are seam free and honestly if they did them in my size I’d buy them! They’re generally not in childish colours.

My dd loves the river island pants, and also has quite a few from new looks 915 range. Her favourites are Calvin Kevin, but only really gets those for Xmas, very and usc usually have really good deals on them though so they’re not too bad.

New Look 9-15
Victoria Secret PINK in the smallest size (bit pricey but usually have 5 pairs for £20 and they wash really well)
Hollister in the smallest size

Meant to add this for the CK ones at usc

DD loves these, super comfy and loads of colours.

SwayingInTime · 01/12/2018 09:23

River Island do cool matching crop top and brief sets.

pamplemoussed · 01/12/2018 09:25

Petit bateau are super comfy and very good quality but pricey. Dd has a few Xs Victoria secret and gap also do a Xs.

teta · 01/12/2018 11:34

Definitely Pink. My dd’s love them.

RoseAndRose · 01/12/2018 11:47

You'd be better off with main Victoria's Secret (5 for £25) if you want maxis - Pink has considerably smaller styles only.

Jammiebammie · 01/12/2018 12:53

What age are those dd’s who wear vs/pink? I’m really surprised any 12 year old fits in them. Dd1 is 16 and a size 6-8 and the xs just fit her, dd2 is 12 and not a hope in hell of them even staying up lol

Myfanwyprice · 01/12/2018 12:55

Matalan has some really lovely ones, grey and peach short and crop top sets

supersqueeze · 01/12/2018 12:58

My DD1 willl only wear Boden. They are really expensive but they are pure cotton and last forever.

squiggleirl · 01/12/2018 17:40

Thank you all so so much. Shops here had very little to offer, so now I know where to go looking on-line - thank you!
