Monty Don's clothes

KismetHardie · 30/11/2018 16:36

Hello,

The baby and I are watching Monty Don rolling around France. DH stuck his head round the door and remarked positively on his linens and cords. I would be VERY HAPPY to facilitate a Monty-Don-ish direction here. Where does he get his things do we think, can anyone help?

I too am interested here - he always looks lovely! I did read that he says that he is a little vain and that his clothes are very expensive.

I've only seen him in his garden gear. Will have to take a look at his French program. I find him very calming. Love it when his dog's there.

applecatchers36 · 30/11/2018 17:17

Have a not so secret crush although have a feeling he could be my father agewise. He's very capable, calming and it's his muscular manliness and passion for gardening. Must stop now. Although never focused on his clothing so much.... will check it out.

Nigel Grin

Nigel in the garden. Smile

Ha, I love Monty's clothes but DH refuses to cooperate and is on to me, he loudly protests if I suggest anything in moleskin or corduroy in a shop, I have snuck in some nice woollens but Poor DH is baldy and I think you need some unruly curls to complete the look. I blame early crushes on Dickon in The Secret Garden and Alan Bates in Far from The Madding Crowd etc....

May have similar to what you require

StateofIndependance · 30/11/2018 18:41

I have a feeling he gets those work wear suits that he wears for gardening tailored especially for him.

This might help www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2005/dec/04/shopping.gardens

His jacket in the chilly weather is a Carhartt.

EleanorLavish · 30/11/2018 19:12

Jacket.

EleanorLavish · 30/11/2018 19:13

Here.

I like the way Monty and David Attenborough dress.

whatswithtodaytoday · 30/11/2018 20:24

Oh wigglybeezer, I loved Dickon too!

I suspect you actually need to be Monty Don to look good in his style of clothes. I have tried to get my partner in corduroy, but he refuses.

Joinourclub · 30/11/2018 23:15

Yes I see the appeal. He clothes always look soft and comfortable in a crumpled, expensive way.

MrsAird · 30/11/2018 23:25

I walk past this shop every day but have never been inside. I feel that it would have something for Monty, but would also accommodate people like David Starkey who is not at all similar and not very nice

SeaRabbit · 01/12/2018 01:48

There's also this place, bookmarked ages ago in case DH fancied dressing like Monty:

Monty has a program where he's in France?

I've a bit of a crush on him too

Luglio · 01/12/2018 05:40

I always assumed Monty shopped at Margaret Howell.

Mercurial123 · 01/12/2018 05:51

One of his favourite jackets is from Paul Smith bought 20 years ago

Monty has a program where he's in France? Yes, and from searching due to this thread, there's an Italian one too!

OldJoseph · 01/12/2018 07:51

He mentions quality leather belts, any ideas where he'd buy those?

Fozzleyplum · 01/12/2018 07:56

How about this.

OldJoseph · 01/12/2018 07:59

Crumbs, that's a belt and a half, thank you.
