Eyeliner and Mascara for blondes

Help. I haven't worn eyeliner regularly since my teens, then it was black with a flick. Now black eyeliner looks too harsh and unnatural. And if I do black mascara I look like a weird 70s doll.

I think my eyes look best with just tinted lashes but I don't want to do that anymore (chemicals & eyes don't mix in my book).

I have had some good eyebrow pencil and that benefit eyebrow wand in a sort of ash colour (grey-brown).

Does anyone know of a good eyeliner and/or mascara in a similar tone or can recommend a good colour for blondes? I'll check the name of the benefit colour later when I get home.

Ere Perez do some nice eyeliner pencils. Slate is nice, as are the bronze and gold ones.

What colour are your eyes? Mine are green and I use plum, slate, or dark brown eyeliner with brown mascara.

If avoid eyeliner completely, it’s very harsh looking on its own. A nice wash of eyeshadow looks much better.

I am blonde with pale blue eyes. Best eyeliner for me is Clinique quickliner in a blue grey. On the Swatch it looks really blue and scary like Princess Diana, but it isn't. Before I read about it on (iirc) the Parisian threads I thought all eyeliners were the same- now I'll never change again!

oooh..thanks for all your help! I found my benefit gimme brow - it was medium/deep (although I don't put loads on).

My eyes are grey-blue with hazel ring around the iris, so a bit of everything.

Does anyone have mascara suggestions - I'm wondering if as BuffaloCauli suggests, I just need a bit of eyeshadow and some mascara.

Which then opens a whole new can of worms picking eyeshadow. I think I have a mini pallette to play with somewhere..

No 7 navy mascara is great for blondes. Brown is ok - depends on the look you want. Bobbi Brown Flirt eyebrow pencil is a nice taupe too.

I have naturally blond hair & blue eyes, with pale skin. I use Dior mascara in brown & an Elizabeth Arden eyeliner. It really brings out the blue in my eyes.

A single coat of Clinique waterproof high impact mascara in black (not clumpy or spidery) and a stone coloured eye pencil (mine's pur but can't see it in stock)

I find brown eye pencils with a reddish undertone look awful on

Yes, brown with a reddish tone makes me look as if I've been crying and purpley stuff like I have black eyes.

I'm off to investigate and will report back in a few weeks' time.
