Hand cream / hand wash

My hands are a state!! I wash my hands a lot (I work in an environment where it is necessary).

The combination of constantly washing my hands and the cold weather is ruining my hands. They are dry, scaly and cracked. They are so sore as well as looking disgusting.

Can anyone recommend a hand cream that actually works? (I've been through so many different ones and just want to stop wasting my money)

Alternatively has anyone found a hand wash that actually moisturises AND has an antibacterial element?

Thanks

I am a hand cream fanatic. I haven't come across any hand cream that is antibacterial as well as moisturising but this hand cream will transform your dry hands, the reviews speak for themselves. I've tried lots of hand creams & I only buy this now .......

P.S make sure you use it before bed so it has overnight to do its stuff : )

I recently bought the hemp face cream as my face was getting dry, it's fab I love it!
I think all hemp stuff is currently buy one get one half price at the moment in the Bodyshop.

It's a bit pricey compared to regular products but well worth the investment. Your hands will be noticeably softer in a couple of days after using this.

Dettol bar soap is much gentler than any handwash.
I like boots own unscented handcream although because it soaks in straight away and doesn't smell, which means I use it more often.
If your hands are really bad then you can't go wrong with original neutrogena.

I love Nuxe Rêve de Miel Hand cream.

malovitt · 28/11/2018 09:02

Eucerin Urea Repair Plus.

Usually on Boots 3 for 2 offer.

It's amazing - better than anything else I've ever tried and I've tried loads.

All my friends have converted to this after sampling mine.

Use a natural soap instead of handwash. And washing up gloves.

Seconding the body shop hemp hand cream - it worked miracles when nothing else was helping my dry cracked hands.

Don't use hand Wash! Apply hand cream every time you wash hands.

Consider washing hands with dermol cream.

The Crabtree and Evelyn 60 seconds fix is incredible

The Nuxe and Body Shop hemp which have both been recommended get a tick from me. There was a Mumsnet thread a while ago which suggested that old fashioned bars of soap rather than shower gel help prevent dry skin on hands and cuticles. It seems to be having an effect.

ANti bacterial hand wash is so drying. I use bars of soap now and my hands are much better. I really rate occitance Shea butter hand cream and crabtree no Evelyn anti aging pomegranate hand serum. RItuals hand balm is also very good.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 29/11/2018 08:52

Carex handwash is the only handwash that doesn't dry my hands out.
Hand creams I'd recommend are any L'Occitane, Body Shop, Soap & Glory or Molton Brown.
These washing up gloves are fab & last ages & just feel like normal gloves: www.lakeland.co.uk/21179/Medium-Deluxe-Moisturising-Washing-Up-Gloves

I use Dr Bronner liquid soap, I've been using it for about a year now and it sorted my dry hands out within 2 days. I've not used anti bacterial since.

L’occitane intensive hand balm works wonders

The hand wash is lovely too - uk.loccitane.com/ultra-rich-hand-body-wash,83,1,29776,270461.htm

Another vote for the Lakeland white washing up gloves - I was having major issues with dermatitis on my hands, and I couldn't work out what was causing it. Swapped to those gloves and it went away almost instantly. I stick to bar soap (generally the Waitrose pink grapefruit one) and L'Occitane shea butter hand cream and my skin's much happier now.

lottielottielottie · 30/11/2018 09:22

Just adding another good hand moisturiser... Bio Oil... I tend to use body shop hemp during the day & Bio Oil on a night time (just before bed ) and my hands are now lovely & soft.
