I don't wear make-up every day but at weekends and to go out. I wear light make-up and am crap at applying it.
I've got clear skin but it's a bit dry so I will always start with moisturiser and leave that to sink in for 5 to 10 minutes before applying make-up.
I use a tinted moisturiser / light foundation, blusher, and eyeshadow in a neutral / subtle shade (2 or 3 colours blended). Occasionally I wear mascara but I don't really like it so I prefer just to comb through my lashes to remove any stray make-up. (My lashes are black). On my lips I just use a glossy balm applied with my finger, to keep the skin soft. I use lipstick only about 8 times a year for "special" events like weddings or black tie, and then it's a neutral shade and only a light application.
I apply the make-up in that order. But I saw a post here yesterday where someone described doing their eye make-up first, then base, then blush.
What's the best order to put on my make-up, Mumsnetters? I would love to learn some easy tips as I still feel like a bit of a novice at the age of almost 38!
