Is this the fashion? Jigsaw

Help me out please. Are these clothes that people are wearing? Or is this just 'model styling'?

I accidentally clicked an ad on mumsnet for Jigsaw. I wouldn't normally look on here - it's out of my price range, although once upon a time did shop there for work clothes.

I'm naturally not stylish, and don't follow fashion trends. So this isn't criticism, but to me it looks like everything's the wrong size/length and separates that don't belong together. The only thing I like from glancing is the coat, but that's £750!!

Maybe it's just all the half tucked in jumpers that make it look so odd to me?!

CountFosco I guess I was just looking for suggestions on whether these clothes were acceptable out and about running errands etc. I don't want to be cutting edge, but I don't want to look daft. I've got a pair of black slightly short wide leg trousers that I wore the summer before last (too hot this year) and when I saw these clothes I wondered if I could get away with them in the winter too. (Instead of the leggings and tunics/long jumpers I seem to live in).

I'm not critiquing the clothes or Jigsaw, as I say out of my price range currently anyway.

It's all very very average looking. A bit dull. Not keen on the cropped leg look with flat shoes myself but I guess it is considered fashionable.
I think similar clothes by different retailers can be styled in a much better way than that. None of those pictures would make me want to look twice at any of those clothes.
I'm no fashion guru by the way, I just like what I like and what I think looks good on me and suits my shape.

I like the clothes too, and am also a fan of cropped trousers with flats. I wear crochet or fishnet tights underneath, then trainer socks under those, so no cold feet and still the illusion of a gap. Today’s outfit was quite Jigsaw - Breton striped jumper, half tucked into cord culottes, with chunky brogues.

That said, I think Jigsaw (and a lot of retailers) are big on styling things with “chunky knits” at this time of year, which look lovely on the models but are not practical (for me at least)in real life. Too bulky to wear with a coat, and no coat is not an option here. I imagine myself all cosy in a big jumper, jeans, and cashmere socks, curled up on the couch, but the reality is if I am on the couch I am generally in “loungewear” which is glorified pjs.

I quite like the clothes too. A bit overpriced, but that’s Jigsaw. I’m missing what others find awful. It alllooks ok to me. Quite like a few bits.

I find Jigsaw as a brand a little precious tho.

I don't think the clothes are awful - just not very exciting. A bit plain. I think it's how they've been styled though rather than the clothes themselves. Nothing is jumping out at me.
I do like a couple of the coats though when I've gone back and looked again.
