I have had short hair for years. Like seriously short. Think Robin Wright in House of Cards.

Am a bit bored of it now even though it suits me. I'd like a softer look my wrinkles need it

I left it too long to get a trim and my stylist said "hmm, if you want to grow it out, this is a good start"

So...the grey is blended in and my ears are reached. Anyone with me ?

I'm also growing out a crop! I'm on week 6. Need to go to the hairdresser this week and get it tidied again. I'm starting to get my old old parting back, it's pretty weird. I think I'm going for a mum bob style.

AnyFucker · 18/11/2018 23:58

Yes. I feel a mum bob stylee going on. Not sure how else to get past this stage though.

I can see me caving very soon. The worst part is yet to come.

Took me about a year to get from crop to short bob. My hair grows so slowly! Like Robin Wright, I think tucking it behind one ear makes the in between style look more deliberate than just grown out. Good luck!

A year ?

Well yeah... suppose it depends how short your crop is and when you consider the crop to be a fully outgrown into a bob. I started by growing the front bit and keeping the back trimmed so that it would grow into an inverted bob .

AnyFucker · 19/11/2018 14:27

I think I will do the inverted thing. The back of my hair just goes bushy when it grows (attractive eh) and is usually the prompt to make me go "fuck it...cut the lot off"

What hair type do you have AF? (Apart from bushy at the back). I've just grown mine out from a crop and I found that once it got to the short bob stage it grew very fast.

EraOfTheGrey · 19/11/2018 17:09

I shaved my hair off 14 months ago and have been growing it ever since. I decided to embrace my grey so I impulsively shaved my head in order to achieve that aim. Surprisingly, I suited a shaved head.

I've kept my hair shaved at the back and sides, similar to picture 3. I'm aiming for the other 2 pictures as my hair grows.

Hairdressing appointments are minimal as I can trim up the back and sides myself. Once the top gets to the bob length then I'll think about growing the sides and back. I haven't had any in-between awkward, book a hair appointment moments thus far.

Rhubarb I have straight hair with a stupid kink I inherited from my stupid father

It makes me look like him when I leave it the natural colour which is dull light brown with grey shot through

Unfortunately ot grows out before it grows down which is why I have always given up in the past. However, this time I have discovered styling gum which seems to be taming it so far and because it has bleached highlights (I know...a lttle bit Princess Di/1980's but I neeeed em) I use tons of conditioner which weighs it down a bit
