Coats: tell me your go to or new brands, must be waterproof and very warm

Need to invest in a decent coat - probably a parka with a faux fur trim - must be waterproof or at least have some water resistant qualities and be able to cope with nth Yorkshire winter. Not frumpy (realise I'm now asking a lot Grin) and not be more than 300.

Something kind of like this Barbour one in terms of warmth and waterpoofiness and something like this Rockholly one in terms of style.

Please tell me all the coat/parka brands you love!

Many thanks

I have a Didriksons Angelina and it's seriously warm. It's my go to when Scotland throws its worse at my foreign, tropical ass.

I also have a Didriksons Nadine and love it with a passion:

  • It's long (down to my knee high boots)
  • It has a slim cut (although it doesn't look it online)
  • It's their highest rating on "Didrikson Levels of Warmth"
  • It has THUMBHOLES (I adore them)
  • It has a fixed hood that is adjustable in about three different ways, which means it's a perfect fit on your head
  • The fur doesn't look cheap and scratchy
  • The pockets are at the PERFECT height, just below my breasts, which is where I naturally rest my folded arms, not near my hips which was always annoying
  • It has magnetic flaps over the zip, which just close automatically and the double zip and magnetic buttons open (also automatically) when you sit in the car or want to spread out/climb/etc

I’ve bought a Barbour and it’s lovely and warm, not wax but waterproof with a hood and belt

I have just bought a craghopper parka - lovely to wear, very warm, waterproof - and has a lifetime guarantee!

North 66 it's Icelandic and very good quality.

Joules Windfield - it's kept me warm and dry for a year now and it still looks good.

I would like to throw Jack Wolfskin into the mix!

Landsend have some nice ones (and some frumpy ones) - very warm - and have a sale on.

I've just bought this. Really pleased. Warm and waterproof. A good length too.

Seasalt has some discounts at the moment on full price stuff

You need the Craghoppers Josefine.
Actually life changing. I'm completely turned off all other brands now.
So warm (the fur lines the top half of the coat too) with superb waterproofing. It has a drawstring for if you want a more fitted waist but looks fine straight.
So many really useful feature including small things like magnets on the pocket flaps so they always sit properly.

But mostly it's just a really really warm furry coat.

...and a lifetime guarantee. Sale on at the moment.
I realize that I sound like a sales rep. I'm not, honestly!

I have a Didriksons. Here's my tuppence worth.

I hate it. It's not comfortable to wear.

But:
it is incredibly waterproof and windproof
Handy pockets
Handy media hole thing
The hood is fantastic
Warm but tbh I expected warmer, but that might just be me. I think it was the Tilly??)
I have it a few years now, it's still as waterproof as ever and I still hate it as ever.
