Private water supply - shit hair

We have a private water supply and since moving here my hair has been pretty shit. It's never shiny and its lank. When I wash my hair anywhere else for a few days it comes to life again.
Can anyone recommend a shampoo or product that will help make my hair shiny and nice again?

Is it an old house? It could have lead pipes somewhere. If you're suffering from a build up of minerals, you'll need to use a special chelating shampoo to get rid of the build up. A normal deep cleansing shampoo won't be good enough. I know Joico do a good one and a few others but you'll need to buy a professional salon quality shampoo to guarantee the best results.

Have you got hard water? You can get a water softening system if you have

I get a lot of build up in my hair from the water here too.
Things I've found to have worked -
Pinch of vitamin c (powder or crushed tablets) mixed in with shampoo. Followed by conditioner. Then a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar mixed in with water as a final rinse.

This shampoo has worked for me m.lookfantastic.com/joico-k-pak-clarifying-shampoo-300ml/10792319.html

Don't use moisturising shampoos. I dilute my conditioner with water. It seems to help it rinse a lot better and not stick.

Bicarbonate (a tsp) mixed with shampoo made into a paste. Removes the build up in 1 go. I find this stronger than the joico. So I would do this or the vitamin c mix to get rid of all your current build up.

It's not an old house but we have hard water because it comes directly from the well and just goes through a uv filter system. Unfortunately we don't have to money to change the system. Thanks for the tips, will give them a shot!
