How fucking hard it is to remove gel nail polish. I stupidly thought it would lift /peel off. Losing the will to live. Tried the foil wrap thingy but barely bloody shifting. My nails look terrible. Never again.

Yes this is the draw back 😩 mine pare particularly trashed after being glittered I’ve gels 7 weeks ago.

You need acetone to remove the gel polish before you foil wrap them did you roughly file the top coat away.

Alexindisguise · 18/11/2018 20:38

Did you lightly file the top coat off first? Then soaked cotton wool in acetone with foil over the top and leave for 10 minutes? I find it easily comes off after doing that.

Roobub · 18/11/2018 20:38

File the top layer to allow the acetone to penetrate, soak in 100% acetone on cotton wool wrapped with foil. In 15 minutes it'll just crumble off.

Birdie6 · 18/11/2018 20:39

You can't just use polish remover with the foil wraps, it has to be acetone. Ask at the chemist - it's cheap and strong .

MistyMinge · 18/11/2018 20:40

I have to confess to not filing the top coat off as I can't find a bastarding file anywhere, but I did use acetone remover dipped in cotton wool.

I find it easier to just put some acetone in a small bowl and hold my fingers in it while watching tv or something.
