Something with no inside leg seam

meringue33 · 18/11/2018 19:41

No idea if this is the right topic to post but I’ve a painful varicose vein running down my inside left leg and it chafes like hell on anything with a seam. Can anyone suggest genuinely seamless leggings, tights or something else I can wear to avoid this! Skirts work in summer but it’s too cold now! Any help gratefully appreciated Smile

Opaque tights don't have leg seams as far as I know

meringue33 · 18/11/2018 20:35

They are thin though, right? And not really made for the park/ school run...

Depending on where it is you might get lucky with jodhpurs. Would have to wear a longer jumper/coat to disguise them.

Lucked · 18/11/2018 20:48

Or can’t you just wear wider leg/boot cut jeans with a support stocking underneath.

LittleWingSoul · 18/11/2018 21:06

Opaque tights don't have to be thin... I've seen them up. To 300 denier but anything 60 denier or over isn't thin. I don't see why these wouldn't be acceptable for the park or school run? I wear them for both! With a skirt or dress, I might add. Not on their own!

I've got some sports leggings from sports direct - Lonsdale I think - that are seamless round the leg

NannyR · 18/11/2018 21:12

I wear thick opaque tights or some that are thermal, almost woolly, with a denim skirt and boots. They don't have seams (apart from the toes) and I'm warm enough doing the school run. M and s sell lots of warmer tights.

QuestionableMouse · 18/11/2018 21:16

How about seamless shorts worn under your normal clothes? Or leggings worn inside out? (My go to for annoying seams)

meringue33 · 19/11/2018 13:23

Thanks all, really appreciate the input!

Can you send me any links to what you mean? Most of the tights & leggings I see do have seams - I’ve googled “seamless leggings” and they are described as such but in the pic clearly have a seam.

Support stockings not comfortable for every day use, I save for the plane!

Oh and helpfully I can’t wear wool as too itchy..,

All the tights I've got are constructed in such a way that the legs are tubes, there are seams at the toes and at the top but no inside leg seams - I don't think I've ever come across tights that have inside leg seams. Most of my tights are from m+s.

LoniceraJaponica · 19/11/2018 13:42

I have never seen tights with leg seams either. Where are you looking. Are they actually tights you are looking at?

Are these any good?

Or these?

Or these?

QuestionableMouse · 19/11/2018 15:07

These do seem to be seamless.

DianaT1969 · 19/11/2018 17:54

Uniqglo have leggings described as seamless.

MoltonSilver · 19/11/2018 18:18

Would tights under trousers help?

meringue33 · 19/11/2018 21:09

Thanks everyone!

Will try the poly tights and see if I can wear them without irritation.

The SensorySmart ones look great thanks, though it’s a shame they don’t come in black as I want something I can wear as outerwear.

And the Uniqlo Airism ones sound perfect but are out of stock.

Thanks for the help. It’s all very strange- I never had sensitive skin on my legs until a couple months ago and now I can’t bear anything.

Try Gap running tights / leggings

babysharkah · 19/11/2018 21:21

I've never had a pair of tights with a seam.

Most gym labels do 'seamless' leggings.

Mbear · 19/11/2018 22:12

Bear in mind that probably the seam that the tights are referring to is the one round the toe. I have loads of M&S tights, none have seams up the legs but they have one at the end by the toe - so they won’t come up in a seamless tight search.

meringue33 · 24/11/2018 10:16

Yes and toes aren’t the problem for me...

Just had a look at the Gap prices and nearly fainted Shock

Lots of running gear has no seams as running = rubbing skin on everything = chaffing. Applies to everything - running are double lined to avoid rubbing. So look for seamless running stuff. Here are some examples:

www.whowhatwear.co.uk/seamless-leggings

The other option is very loose style yoga pants that are minimal seamed but of a low friction type material and make little contact with your skin. I have a pair of Yummie by Heather Thomson trousers like this that are made of modal - don't rub and feel like wearing air. Few seasons old so can't link to them as not on sale - but you maybe able to find something similar if you scout around.

Foggymist · 24/11/2018 12:20

I don't think any of the hundreds of pairs of tights I've ever bought had seams other than along the toes.

beanaseireann · 25/11/2018 10:23

Primark do 200 denier tights
