Help! Looking for a small crossbody saddle/box bag for DD

18 yo DD has requested a small bag for Christmas as one of her presents but is very specific about what she wants/doesn't want (yet is "too busy studying" to find this illusive bag ).

The style she wants is described as a saddle bag or box bag I think in that it's 3D rather than flat IYSWIM.

It needs to be black, ideally leather, crossbody, small (to fit a phone, keys and small purse) and , most importantly very plain and simple ie. no bling, no tassles, no gold buckles/clasps and definitely not a chain shoulder strap. She's not into brands or labels so no worries on that front

Looking for something around the £20-30 mark

The problem with most of the ones I've seen is that they're too big or have too many fancy details.

There was a bargainous contender on ASOS for £15but it went OOS whilst I pondered if it was right or not.

Have you had a look at Zatchels? They’re British made and last really well.

Sorry - the small one (so not micro and not large!) is the one I’ve got - it’s 23.5 cm long apparently.

Thank you ToftheB - the micro is the right sort of size but (rather annoyingly) the other one is probably better looks-wise. Aargh!

superdry I think the tassels could be removed quite easily.

Definitely a big NO there I'm afraid due to the obvious brand name emblazoned across it!

It needs to be plain and simple.

Accessories always do good cross body

Try other stories. They have a cross body black mini saddle bag.

It took me about 2 years to find the perfect cross body bag, which is similar to what your DD wants. I found mine in TK Maxx. this one which is small, leather, black, simple and 3D. Previous to this the only I could find I liked was from Primark. I was very particular about what it was I wanted so I didn't care where it was from but I wanted to end up with a leather one, which I now have.

Accessorize have some that were OK stye wise but they're only available in crazy colours, not black.

Some of the TKMaxx ones are getting there but maybe not saddle-bag enough.

Some lovely stuff on the Other Stories site but alas again, nothing that ticks all the boxes

I have this bag in the Tan leather and it’s amazing. It does have the Biba logo but as it’s a pattern would that be ok? It’s very hard wearing and I’ve been using for a year now with no signs of use. Good size without being too big and nice and 3D as you say. Obviously over budget though

What about Pure Luxuries London? I got a similar bag from them a couple of years ago, not sure what their current offerings are like.

None of those H&M links will open properly - one of them might be one I've found that's a possible contender . It's not leather but it may do if desperate
