Best thing to spend £45 worth of advantage card points on?

I’ve been saving them all year thinking I’d treat myself to a luxe foundation or a perfume... now it’s come to it I feel as though I can’t bring myself to ‘waste’ them on something, and just can’t decide what to spend them on.... any ideas welcome?!

I originally thought I’d get a Chanel foundation - viralumiere aqua as looking at it it’s the type of foundation I’d usually wear, light in coverage, glowy etc. Is it worth the money? Their Christmas Ltd edition polishes are also very pretty Smile I want to feel I’ve really treated myself basically and not that I’ve just blown them on something silly.

Are you me? I also have £45 worth of points and thinking of the Chanel Vitalumiere!!

YellowLily · 18/11/2018 17:32

Grin i keep thinking shall I go for something that will potentially last me longer like a nail polish, and then I can get a couple of bits? I love ‘Flamboyance’ their xmas polish! Smile

I’d go for perfume Smile however the points have to cover the full value, so maybe £45 wouldn’t be enough. In that case, I’d probably do something similar with some nice make up or nail polish.

Redtartanshoes · 18/11/2018 17:34

Perfume for me: lasts longer and can wear every day.

I don’t find Chanel nail varnish that great. Barry M @ £3.99 is far longer lasting.

If you buy the foundation will you be able to continue buying once it’s run out in a few months?

Hair styling thing?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/11/2018 18:00

Big Hair?

Agree that Chanel nail varnish isn't all that.

I'd probably go for perfume tbh, or some Benefit stuff.

jq28 · 18/11/2018 18:06

I'd highly recommend benefit hello flawless if you're after a new foundation!

ElspethFlashman · 18/11/2018 18:09

Definitely something electrical. A babyliss or Remington something or other. I did that one year, got a Big Hair. Not sure I would have justified it otherwise as I knew I'd only use it very occasionally. Its handy to own, though, I'll give it that.

ElspethFlashman · 18/11/2018 18:09

Oh and also don't forget Boots do sunglasses!

luckylavender · 18/11/2018 18:51

You don't have to spend them yet. Wait until the New Year when it's grey & cold & you could do with a pick me up. I save mine until I have enough for a bottle of Chanel perfume. Lasts me ages.

YellowLily · 19/11/2018 00:13

Don’t know why I didn’t think of electricals, that’s something to think about. I’ve been eyeing up the big hair for a while... hmmmSmile

Currently saving mine for Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel. Can’t justify spending that much on it, hoping I have enough by summer!

Lamentations · 19/11/2018 10:29

You should absolutely 'waste' them on something truly lovely and indulgent. Do NOT buy 45 tubes of toothpaste.

Hannnnnnnxo · 19/11/2018 11:03

I wasn’t a fan of Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua - I would give it a miss personally as there are better low coverage foundations out there! Also you’ll need to repurchase this often as it’s very liquid in texture, and will go off within a year, so in my opinion it’s more of a routine purchase than a one off splurge. If anything, get a sample and see if you absolutely love it after using it for a few days before buying

If you wait until after Christmas, boots really cut the prices of their Xmas perfume gift sets. It’s not the shit ones that go on sale - it literally all the Christmas gift sets that they have left in stock. I annoyingly bought an £80 Lancôme gift set which went down to about £20 in the salesConfused

leasedaudi · 19/11/2018 21:48

Can you order stuff into your local boots if they don't stock what you want? My local boots has nothing useful ie expensive. Why can't we just spend points online like a norma store!?

YellowLily · 19/11/2018 21:51

You can spend points online can’t you! I think you can! I was in Boots today, bought some presents for xmas and they must have had an offer on as I’ve now got £51 WinkSmile

YellowLily · 20/11/2018 00:14
