Neal's Yard Remedies: Wild Rose Beauty Balm - how do I use it?

I have been gifted with a lovely gift set, including a full sized version of the above - but am not sure how to use it. Specifically if I can just use it as a cleanser!

Have looked online and Neal's Yard / Ocado websites indicate I can use it:

  • as an intense moisturiser after cleansing
  • as a lip balm
  • as a balancing facial mask using the heated muslin cloth on my face
  • as an exfoliating cleanser using the muslin cloth.

If I want to use it as a cleanser, how do I do this? Do I put on my face and wipe off with cotton wool? And if so, do I dampen the cotton wool? And do I use toner afterwards - or is the point that the waxy residue is there for ongoing moisturising?

It smells gorgeous!

I like using it as a cleanser. I don't apply anything after that. Mostly I use it after cleansing toning and leave it like a mask.
Great for nails and elbows, dry bits on heal. I have read online that people use it on hair to just to tame it. It's always in my check in bag as my skin dries up too much in planes.
Great stuff. Enjoy your gift!

Thanks!

So how do you wipe it off when cleansing - ie do you use dry cotton wool or slightly dampened? Or do you use the muslin cloth?

Hi I use the cloth that comes with it. Just rinse it in hot water, squeeze and wipe off gently. But I do take make up off with a cleansing milk type thing before I do this to feel clean. Depending on weather I don't have to use anything after this but will dab a bit more of the balm on dry bits if I feel like it.

Thanks - I'll try that.

Minor confession: the 'gift' was one I bought for myself! It was 1/3 off for the balm with body cream and the hand cream - and so cheaper than the beauty balm by itself!

Whereas the Beauty Balm by itself is £40 - same size as in the discounted gift set! (www.ocado.com/webshop/product/Neals-Yard-Remedies-Wild-Rose-Beauty-Balm/75654011?param=neals+yard+rose&from=search)

I use it on my face at night as a moisturiser. Also as a hair balm once dry to give a bit of bounce to mr waves and it gives a bit of shine. Hands and nails too. Always carry a small pot and dab on face to freshen up make up. Couldn't be without it 😀

Gifts to yourself are great Grin

I’ve never used any neals yard, but live quite near a shop - what of theirs is particularly good?

Didiusfalco · 16/11/2018 14:11

Wow that gift sets a bargain!

I've been needing some more frankincense moisturiser, but have been using up all the samples that I've amassed in an effort to save cash. This is too good to pass up though! Thanks Smile
