Hello waste conscious fashionistas!
What is your latest find?
I just got an amazingly good condition 100% cashmere jumper in pink and I cannot wait to wear it!
Maybe tucked into mom jeans or skirt.
Here it is

Very nice: I would be pleased to find that.
Love a good "pre-loved" trawl, although I don't always find anything.
Favourites recently were from an Age UK shop: a Boden jumper and Boden skirt, both in perfect condition for £5 each.

Wauden · 15/11/2018 18:41

Some lovely cashmere cardis and jumpers at my local market. Bought a green cardi there.

Moominfan · 15/11/2018 18:52

Found my people. I get so much joy from a good charity shop find. Recently got a grey merino wool jumper for 1.50 in a bin at my local Barnardo a

CrazySheepLady · 15/11/2018 22:14

Do eBay pre-loved finds count, too?!

I found a pair of fabulous wool trousers for next to nowt. They look expensive and I feel great wearing them.

Redandblue11 · 15/11/2018 22:56

Of course eBay counts! Crazysheep, I love the sound of the wool trousers... mmm might have a look on eBay.
Do you dare send us a photo?

What about dress agencies? Not as cheap as charity shops, but my local one gets all the nice stuff and it has to be in good condition or the shop won't take it. Best bargain this autumn was a pair of slightly used Duo boots in exactly the right calf size for me. £34 but they would have been £150/200 new!

Redandblue11 · 16/11/2018 09:30

Dress agencies! Of course, there is one not far from where I live , I must go and pay a visit .
The Duo boots find sounds amazing, they must be good quality.
Always worth buying something you know will be well worth it

I have a fab dress agency near me and at the moment that's where I shop most of the time. The prices are hgher than a charity shop but the clothes are pre-selected and in much better shape and I'm still supporting a local, independent business.

I find charity and vintage shops very hit and miss but if I'm organised and persistent and travel a bit, I get lucky. I recently grabbed a Vivienne Westwood skirt for £15 (charity shop - not local) and a Burberry raincoat for £40 (vintage shop, also not local). The pics are on my phone which I've gone and left at work but I posted them on the Parisienne thread.

I feel the need to add that it can take a lot of time to find the good stuff and that I've bought some shockers too.

EraOfTheGrey · 16/11/2018 17:30

I've recently bought the following 2nd hand garments:

-Goverall duffle coat which was in excellent unworn condition(retail price £300). £60

-100% cashmere coat. £20

-Celtic & Co 100% wool Supersoft slouch dress (currently for sale from Celtic & Co for £110). £25

I'm set up for winter now.

foldinggardenchair · 16/11/2018 18:05

I got a pure silk Nicole Farhi cowl neck top for £3.50 recently, quite pleased with that one.
Today I found a nice handkerchief hem long cardigan which is nicer than it sounds honest. I'm having a bit of a lagenlook/dark mori phase Confused

halfwitpicker · 16/11/2018 20:15

Nice work.

Redandblue11 · 17/11/2018 08:55

EraoftheGrey - where did you find all that? I would be very pleased with that Smile

Anyone knows where to find good quality second hand / vintage stuff in Paris? I will be there in a few days and might squeeze some shopping for treasures

Floisme · 17/11/2018 09:35

Red if you check out the old Parisienne threads - sorry I can't remember which one - there are posts about the second hand scene there, probably made by botemp.

SpeckledyHen · 17/11/2018 09:41

Holidayshopping · 17/11/2018 09:45

Love this-nothing better than a charity shop find!

What is a dress agency though?!

Floisme · 17/11/2018 10:00

It's a shop where they sell your clothes for you and take a percentage of the money. They normally only accept the stuff they're confident of selling so, if you're a punter it saves trawling through a load of bobbled Matalan and if you're a seller, you don't have any of the hassle of Ebay (although obviously you don't make as much).

EraOfTheGrey · 17/11/2018 10:15

Redandblue I purchased all of that from Ebay. I'm very selective about what I look for though. I usually have an idea about what I want before i start my search.

Athena51 · 17/11/2018 17:27

I got a lovely Phase Eight coat, looks brand new for £15.

Redandblue11 · 17/11/2018 19:25

SpeckledHen - super envious!! X

Athens51- very nice!

I got last year 2 Sonia Ryekl knitted tops, superb quality one on eBay for 10 and the other in a dress agency for 25, every time I wear them I get compliments 😀

I went to a car boot sale last year and one of the sellers had a rail of Karen Millen clothes. She used to work for Karen Millen and had absolutely stacks of new and slightly worn dresses and tops and jumpers. Actually went home to get some more money and bought about £100 worth of stuff which translated into about 30 items some new with tags. I sold one dress that didn't fit on eBay for £140 so everything ended up being essentially free.

Moominfan · 17/11/2018 22:31

Menstruater I just love your user name :)

moredoll · 19/11/2018 05:21

Maison Scotch and April77 jeans £3 each iin a charity shop sale. I was thrilled!

Destinysdaughter · 19/11/2018 06:00

I’ve got my mum’s Burberry trench coat exactly like the one upthread! I’ll never wear it, think I could sell it on EBay? Or Vinted? Never sold clothes online before.

branche · 19/11/2018 22:58

Sorry to jump in but figure someone might have a clue...

After seeing @SpeckledyHen and @Destinysdaughter posts, I'm looking at Burberry trenches on ebay. Does anyone know if I need to be wary of fakes? And if so, how do I tell the real from the fake?

Always wanted a Burberry trench and had no idea you could find them on ebay for so cheap!! Actually really excited now Grin
