yay or nay this coat?

I am going to amsterdam in jan first coty break with no kids and I want to look a little bit "put together" rather than frumpy mum I havent got a massive budget. Ive found this on EBay.
Thinking with some thermal leggins/jeans while am away some comfy chelsea boots maybe and some nice gloves?

Um. It's a nice enough coat (although not hanging very well on the mannequin; I'd worry it's not very well cut) but it's not really a current style, so it would say "frumpy mum" a bit to me. Something in wool with narrower lapels and without the fur would be both more current and more classic.

If I were going on a city break and wanted to have fun I might get one of the big teddy bear/bouclé coats that are around right now. They're fun, warm and not too expensive.

Yes! Just like Selina posted. If you want to go balls to the wall a leopard-print version is very "now" There are suggestions on how to wear it in that New Look link.

The coat is polyester so not sure how warm that would be? What's your budget you can get a decent wool coat at a reasonable price on EBay. Ted Baker have some nice ones, you might get a bargain.

Might be a bit rainy in Amsterdam in January and pretty cold so yiu might want to go more waterproof. Not as smart I know

I think if you are on a budget and like the idea of a wool type coat then something like This might be a bit more on trend. I think the faux fur collar on that eBay coat is very dated to be honest.
The coat I've linked is very neutral so could be paired up with a lovely wool scarf and hat and worn with heels in the evening but would also look good with a causal outfit with trainers.
If you have a bit more to spend then there are some very nice wool coats around at the moment.
