Mission impossible? The search for a long lasting creamy eyeshadow

Does one exist?

And is there some secret way of applying (prime with super glue maybe?) such that it will last beyond 11am?

Have you tried the Bobbi Brown long wear shadow sticks? They are pretty budge proof in my experience and don't need a primer.

MissCharleyP · 14/11/2018 22:57

I use MAC Paint Pots and prime with Urban Decay anti-aging eye primer. Bobbi Brown long wear cream eyeshadows are also brilliant and last all day.

Everley · 15/11/2018 00:26

Another vote for the Bobbi Brown Long Wear eyeshadow (I like the ones in pots). I like the Urban Decay and Too Faced shadow primers too, can't use eyeshadow without them as I have oily lids and stuff just slides off otherwise!

didireallysaythat · 15/11/2018 20:19

The urban decay primer doesn't work for me unfortunately. I like the Bobbi Brown sticks but they only last until lunchtime.... I think wearing glasses and safety specs during the day doesn't help me ..

Have you tried the Bobbi Brown eyeshadows in the pots? I haven't tried the sticks but the pots are fab. Also, Maybelline Colour Tattoo cream eyeshadow is good.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo are amazing little pots. I bought 2 at the weekend and intend to buy more. Colours are beautiful and really cover and stay.

MissCharleyP · 15/11/2018 21:46

Benefit do one called ‘Stay Don’t Stray’, that might work for you?

TheCag · 15/11/2018 22:08

I use Mac paint pots, I find they last all day.

LadyLapsang · 15/11/2018 22:30

Really like Laura Mercier caviar sticks. I had some eye problems and had to go make up free for a while. I felt like I was reclaiming part of my being when I could use eye make up again.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 16/11/2018 05:09

By Terry OmbréBlackstar eyeshadow sticks. They don't budge.

Charlotte Tilbury do pots of cream shadow that I've found surprisingly good..

Ultimately I think you need a good primer if things like LM and BB aren't lasting till lunchtime. If your eyelids are very oily then primer and shadow might be the way forward?

Outfoxed · 16/11/2018 09:25

Mac paint pots are great, as are the maybelliene colour tattoo thingies but they dry out so quickly in my experience that it’s a bit of a false economy and you may as well buy Mac paint pots.

BusterGonad · 16/11/2018 10:46

By Terry ombré black star. Do not use primer. I also like Revlon colourstay cream eyeshadow in the glass jars. I normally don't use primer as I think it messes up the formula!

stoplickingthetelly · 16/11/2018 11:59

I'm also a fan of the Bobbi Brown ones. They're both good, but find the pots slightly better than the sticks.

EraOfTheGrey · 16/11/2018 12:51

For me its the MAC paint pots.
I've found that both the Maybelline colour tattoo pots and the Bobbi Brown pots dry up way too quickly. Only the MAC paint pots and the Maybelline colour pots both last on lids all day, I have oily lids.

CointreauVersial · 16/11/2018 14:40

Maybelline Colour Tattoo doesn't budge.

Sammysquiz · 16/11/2018 16:08

The Beauty Pie cream shadow sticks are brilliant. I put mine on this morning and it’s still looking good!

BusterGonad · 17/11/2018 02:33

And Rosie for autograph do good dupes of By Terry. Also op do not put your eye cream on your eye lids. They don't obsorbe it well. Which could ruin your make up!

ThankyouwitharecaptalR · 17/11/2018 02:58

Benefit 'stay don't stray' is a really good base, I then use Mally eyeshadow sticks once dry (can get from QVC) and find I get all day wear

BusterGonad · 17/11/2018 06:55

Just to add, I mean skin care eye cream not to be put on eyelids, not eye cream eyeshadows! Grin

didireallysaythat · 17/11/2018 09:07

Thank you all!

I don't put any cream, moisturiser or anything hear my eyes, but eyeliners and creams just don't last.

I'll try Stay don't Stray next. I doubled checked and I've one or two Mac pots in the drawer and they don't last - maybe I'm too timid with the colour and don't put enough on? I like the Bobbi sticks texture the most but I'll have a look on eBay at the others.

My Stay don't Stray sample arrived from eBay. Applied. Went out. Super duper. 8 hours later in a crappy travel lodge with nothing resembling soap in the crappy bathroom I can't get anything off.

Result !!

Thank you one and all.
