What shops to get clothes in & how to look put together!

Hi all, have posted before but I'm looking to get some new clothes, I'm a sahm until two weeks when I return to work. I work in care (no uniform required) but needs to be practical. I'm 43 5'4 in between sizes 12-14 & have gained weight around middle which is my problem area.
Looking for ideas where to shop, what to put with what, (incl footwear) as I am pretty clueless what suits me. I'm quite fair skinned with dark (highlighted) hair.

I just want to feel good about myself, as I currently don't.

DD used to work in care and she had to wear black trousers, and flat shoes, tbh no-one really noticed what you were wearing as long As it was as stated .

Yeah I get that, but I guess I mean for when I'm not at work,I can any clothes for work as does not have to be anything specific at all.) I should have worded things a bit better, Im stuck in a comfort zone of jeans, jeggings, with dull colours, no dresses or skirts as can't find any I feel comfortable in or think look good on me, have tried a few!
I think having a baby has made me lose my body confidence & need a boost or something!

Have a look in Fat Face, I’ve been buying some work dresses there recently. Also got a couple of nice dresses in monsoon.

Ok - do you know which colours you want/what suits you best? Pick 2-3 colours (mine are navy, deep red & charcoal, but that's just me) and look for:

  • a couple of dresses
  • couple of pairs of trousers/skirts
  • 4-5 tshirts/shirts
  • 2 jumpers
  • jacket

Try to only buy stuff that goes with at least 2-3 other things so you can mix and match.

I got a couple of dresses from H&M recently that are really good. They are also ok for basic tshirts etc. Start there, then build on it.
