Super sore skin - Homemade face mask?

Hi guys,

I've currently got quite a bad cold. Streaming eyes and nose.

My skin is super super sore around my nose and mouth - probably a combination of blowing my nose and being run down.

Can anyone recommend a homemade face mask I can put together to soothe things?

Mashed avocado and honey

Oatmeal and honey?

I would just put sudocrem on tbh. Always worked wonders for me.

I'm just raiding my fridge and cupboards

I have:

Packets of Oats So Simple - will they do? Confused
Honey
Double cream
Eggs
Sugar
Salt
Oil

No Avocado Sad

I wouldn't make a face mask. Surely this will irritate your skin. I would buy some non-perfumed cream like E45 or sudocrem.

Oats so simple would be fine. Have a bath and pat it onto your skin. No rubbing or exfoliating though!

Oats will do

Or just milk compresses

LMW1990 · 14/11/2018 15:51

@endofthelinefinally Sudocream I have! It just usually makes me break out a bit - I have quite dry sensitive skin and anything greasy seems to upset the balance quite quickly. But that might be a good shout, it's driving me crackers!

Do I mix the oats with anything? I feel daft even asking this ha ha!

Vaseline?

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 14/11/2018 15:56

Some water or milk, you want a spreadable paste.

Or, better, tie in a Muslin, dip in water and use to tap on the sore bits.

holidaylady · 14/11/2018 20:27

I think oatsosimple has milk powder in it, so just mix it with water. With honey would make it more goopy so it doesn't fall off.

Hence the suggestion of putting it on and having a bath! Doesn't matter if it's messy!

Or just straight honey that's nice too.

Plus you could eat a humongous quantity of fruit and veg for 3 days and that might give you a vitamin boost from the inside

8 hour cream from Élizabeth Arden bests everything for cold nose and chapped lips.

Get some La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5. It will heal soreness overnight, and it's only about a fiver a tube I don't think rubbing food into sore skin is the best idea.
