Hair dryer

Can anyone recommend a decent dryer? Mine is on its last legs and I was thinking of asking for one for Christmas. Not too pricey, maybe middle of the range? I need it to be quick, and ideally good on fine hair. Thanks!

Parlux is very good

IJustWantToWearDungarees · 14/11/2018 14:10

Oooh brilliant thanks. Is a compact one ok, do you think, or does it have to be full size?

Any other recommendations? Bumping. 😀

Another vote for parlux, you can get smaller models i think for 80ish. Also if you wang cheaper the mark hill ones from boots are good

Fstar · 14/11/2018 22:44

Wang lol want

dontgobaconmyheart · 15/11/2018 02:32

Finding "wang" funnier than I should because it's 2:30am and I'm up ill Grin. I'm in the market for a new hairdryer OP but am clinging on for the dreaded black Friday to see if I can get one cheaper. The top 3 on my list are Babyliss 3Q, The Parlux Advanced light and the GHD air. Would like a Dydon but i draw the line at several hundred quid even if I would use it daily!

Freyanna · 15/11/2018 02:49

Another vote for Parlux, dries my hair really quickly, is light and I bought the 'silencer' attachment so it isn't noisy.

IJustWantToWearDungarees · 15/11/2018 08:14

Brilliant, thanks everyone. Looks like Parlux is a consistent favourite. I am also going to hang out for Black Friday, I think (asking for it for Christmas but DH will baulk at paying £100+ for a hairdryer. If I can present it to him with a discount he may consider it!). Had a quick look and love their purple ones - only question is whether I can get away with a compact version. My hair is fine and past my shoulders, not quite at bra.

Paralux advanced light is great dryer highly recommend

HeyMacWey · 15/11/2018 18:14

I have a parlux compact and it's brilliant. My hair dries in half the time that it did with my babyliss one.

Freyanna · 15/11/2018 23:43

I have a parlux advanced light, it dries my shoulder length hair in 5 minutes.

HappyKatieA · 16/11/2018 07:15

I love my parlux too! 😊

IJustWantToWearDungarees · 16/11/2018 17:31

Right, am decided on Parlux! Thanks everyone. Fingers crossed for a good Black Friday deal.

Would anybody with a Parlux be able to measure the length of the cord from dryer to plug please? Am also looking for a new dryer but am fussy about cord length! Thanks Smile

HeyMacWey · 17/11/2018 10:25

They're normally 3 metres so plenty of cord if your plug socket is in an awkward place.

Athena51 · 17/11/2018 16:56

I have a GHD that I absolutely love.

IJustWantToWearDungarees · 18/11/2018 17:57

Me again! Just discovered that I have £95-worth it Boots Advantage Card points. This means I could basically get the BaByliss 3Q for free. @dontgobaconmyheart, do you mind me asking why it is in your top three? Is it supposed to be really good? Reviews seem v positive on the site, but I never know how much I should trust them. Really want a purple Parlux but my sensible side is saying I should get the one which doesn't involve spending any money! Do you think there's a lot between the two models?

Wanted to just give an update: I found a Parlux on a site for £65! Caved and bought it rather than asking for it as a Christmas present. It was delivered yesterday and it is AMAZING! Dries my hair so quickly and is lovely to use. Thanks for all the recommendations!
(And I get to hang on to my Boots points - bonus!😀)

That was a great bargain, glad you like it.

dontgobaconmyheart · 25/11/2018 02:38

ooh @IJustWantToWearDungarees - congrats on the Parlux, where did you end up getting it from if you don't mind me being and cheeky and asking ( i've been too bloody busy to actually sit and browse and am worried i've missed out!) - I didn't notice your previous Q or would have responded, totally moot now of course but it was a combo of it being one of the more lightweight models with the higher power for the price, that was consistently well reviewed. Still eyeing up that Parlux though, you are making me want one Grin - what did you go for?

IJustWantToWearDungarees · 29/11/2018 22:54

So sorry - only just noticed the new posts! Yes - my Parlux was from Just My Look, like the link below. It is really amazing - very powerful. Dries my hair super quickly!

OP posts:
IJustWantToWearDungarees · 29/11/2018 22:56

The only thing is, it isn't that light - but I guess that is something to do with the fact it is powerful, maybe? (Engineering not my strong point!)
