5’3”, petite and need an outfit! Please inspire me!

I’m a SAHM who doesn’t ever go out, so really don’t have anything suitable in my wardrobe to wear to a lovely ‘do’ coming up to celebrate a milestone birthday at a sophisticated yet relaxed afternoon tea.

I’m petite, small in both frame and height - I usually wear a size 6 or 8. I tend to fall between petite and regular ranges.

I have no idea what to wear! Budget £100 or under for an entire outfit. Please inspire me!!

Firstly I'd say separates that can be worn with other things is the way to go to get the use out of them. Might be worth looking at some blogs for ideas: TheFashionLift, SmallTownThreads, SusieSoSo and enbrogue are all short. Onthespike had a good post recently about petite clothes and had a lot of comments BTL that were useful with good suggestions of places to look.

For the event you are describing I'd wear a bias cut silk skirt with a fine knit jumper or a slouchy cashmere jumper depending how casual I want to be. Or a dress (helpful!).

Ooh silk and cashmere - sounds decadent and lovely! I like the mix too, and thanks for the blog suggestions. I’ll do some investigating!
