I have acupuncture anyway. My acupucturist offered to give me a facial acupunture session while i was there saying the results tend to be very slow etc. That said I found the effect on my “11”s was pretty astounding. From defined deep lines I feel the area is more plump.

princesstiasmum · 13/11/2018 09:03

TakeMe2Insanity that is amazing, how many sessions did it take, and does it last? and also i imagine it would be quite expensive, knowing how much the usual acupuncture costs,
I know it works for other things as i had it for very bad sciatica years ago, and the relief was immense

TakeMe2Insanity · 13/11/2018 14:24

I’ve only had one session so far. I had a session a week ago and it definitely has done something physical. My acupuncturist actually played down the results that people get saying it tends to give a glow and helps bring the collagen to the front very slowly. For reference I’m 42, I (randomly met) a botox specialist while on holiday when I was 27 who suggested that I get botox on my “11”s as they were quite pronounced but I’ve never liked the idea of botox. My session costs £55 for an hour, my acupuncturist normally charges £65 for 30mins for the facial (in London zone 3). I hope that helps.

Thanks for the info, Accupuncture here is around £35 for a session, i believe [not sure about facial accupuncture]
It is a long time since i went for my sciatica, and it was only £20 then
It does sound as if it would be good and better than botox, and cheaper maybe in the long run if it lasts
I am going for a hifu treatment tomorrow, [ultherapy] but more advanced machine
A bit worried as i have heard good and bad things about it, but it is supposed to work over about 3 months before any results are seen, also supposed to help with collagen,
I am very sceptical really about these new things,
I think some are a gimmick and wont work, but this is an offer through Groupon, as the full proper price is £900, and i wouldnt pay that unless it was a surety, just a bit of sagging on jowls and mainly neck

thank you for the info. I'm thinking of trying acupuncture for migraine and tooth grinding but noticed that cosmetic acupuncture was also offered.

It definitely works for relieving the pain of teeth grinding (dh went for that) but ultimately had to wear a mouth guard.
