Are big paddle straighteners any better than small?

I'm thinking they might be faster?

In theory yes, but I found them harder to do the bits higher up nearer my scalp. Maybe it's just me not being very manually dextrous with them but I found them slower.

If you have long thick hair, then yes. If you have short fine hair or want to curl it under, smaller is better.

I have long thick hair and have just swapped my wider paddle ghd's for the ghd platinum. As mentioned above, it was too difficult to do the roots and I have some fine baby hair that was always curly!
